Your anime choices are what I would call "Run of the mill" or the "Adult Swim Syndrome".
I would suggest trying some things that are a bit off the beaten path for someone with your current viewed styles.
Melody of Oblivion - This is quite out there, and you will either love it or hate it. My biggest complaint about this series is that it most definitely reuses a lot of footage and you get sick of it sometimes, but if you can get past that and wrap your head around the rather out there concepts it's quite excellent.
Elfen Lied - Pretty gorey but quite good if you enjoy the violence. Single showing instead of a series, but quite good.
Others I'm sure will have their own opinions, but I think those two are a good set.

Your definition of "good" amuses me.
psavatarisnotanime
Watch Darker than Black, Blood+, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Fist of the North Star, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, and pretty much anything that isn't badly written generic shōnen.

If you weren't around when those series were being aired then you likely do not know of them. How is anyone supposed to know about a series like Kiba if they weren't around when it was being aired?
I know there are websites that claim to be helpful in this regard but honestly they are not at all helpful. It's just a place for some kids to give up reviews and play favorites. You can't honestly expect people to know what to watch. We are Westerners, Japan & S.Korea don't give a crap about any of us.

You'll probably get better recommendations there on the forums or even by just searching titles.
Samurai Champloo, Black Lagoon, Black Cat, Ergo Proxy, Last Exile, [email protected] Xenoglossia, Mai-Hime are a few "good" animes.

I wasn't aware that the US had a vast selection of anime. A lot of what I consider "good" probably will never be aired in the US, but I some-how magically know about them. I don't actively choose my anime based on the air-date either. Usually you can find out about anime that ISNT awful by talking to your friends, searching the interent, posting on forums etc.
MAL actually has a "recommendations" for every title in their database.

^ This. Just clicking on an anime you've seen and reading the "if you've watched ... then you might like ..." box opens up a whole new world of possibilities (and gigabytes in your hard drive kekeke).
To the OP: if you don't mind dated animation go watch Fist of the North Star, the king of Manly anime.

If we did, it's about to get worse because there is a downturn in the US anime industry. For example we won't be getting as many dubs anymore.

There are no good anime series.
they all get chewed up, eaten, and distorted from the originals turning them into crap.

If you watch an anime online, you should watch the english subbed. Most animes are better in the original Japanese, and most subtitles aren't too horribly translated. The only English dubs that I enjoyed were Cowboy Bebop and Trigun, others I can't stand the English voice actors. Also, don't try to watch anime on Youtube- all the episodes are usually all over the place and may have different dubbers/subbers. I prefer to use Anilinks, Anime Shippuden, and ZomgAnime.
For some real "epic" animes, I would recommend:
Code Geass
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Neon Genesis Evangelion
These are kind of "mech" animes, however their storys aren't extremely based around the mechs themselves, unlike something like the Gundam series.
If you like comedy, Azumanga Diaoh, Lucky Star, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and Excele saga are all pretty good.

What? Who would want to watch a dubbed version? It's usually censored and a lot is lost in the process.
