the video is epic i was more excited for gw2 after the trailer for gw2 came out. and was playing aion to hold me over... but now after the expansion video gw2 is almost outof my mind. aion looks better and better every 6 months.

FOr all those that say i wont play a p2p game that paying a monthy doesnt make sence. i too had the same thought i started with wow becuz it was the thing to do. after playing for a month i told myself i would never pay a monthy fee to play a game. wow just was a joke in every way. then aion cought my mind, and kept wishing i hope its a free to play game.
as time went on with guildwars only thing i would wait for was more aion news over and over. when aion came out and said it would be p2p. i sat down and made a list of pros and cons and waited for beta to finish my choice.
..Indeed most p2p games are not worth it , but aion is different people say the bots are bad and the support is junk. but i will defend ncsoft on this matter. ncsoft cares about the thoughts and issues we have with aion and have fixed most of the issues ina timly matter. something guildwars has not done . dont get me wrong i love guildwars and with it being a f2p game they dont have the man power too reslove issues as fast. i except that and dont hate guildwars or bash there gm's. with a p2p game they have more money and staff to care for us. and give us meaningful updates alot faster and fix issues alot faster.

not all p2p games work this way and most p2p games dont fix issues or do thought through updates. but this is where aion doesnt fail and will prove not to cater to the qqers in a bad way.

once this update happens it will draw alot more people to aion and keep there core players to play more.

PvP is still unbalanced and it will stay the same, Fortress is a simple zergfest, PvE content: lol, endgame PvPvE: lol, grind will prolly not get fixed.

As I have said, I'll resub to check out the new graphics and shit, get a mount and then cancel again.

I have moved on, but am thinking of moving back. Theres so much wrong with Aion it makes me stressed to play. Im in the #3 legion on Perento server and the elyos are just getting dominated by the huge Russian legions on our server. Its frustrating because I can't muster enough white wings together to mount a decent offensive against their forts.

Grind is endemic, combat is clunky and dominated by zergs, reporting system is seriously flawed and the game still shuts itself down entirely if you are disconnected - this, coupled with a ridiculously long load/log in time, is very annoying.

No doubt ill be crawling back to guild wars after another month or so.x

Gamespot finally got their review up -- 6.5. Gamespot and IGN are the two sources I pay most attention to their reviews (not as in I treat them as gospel, I just find them the most insightful).

Really? You seriously listen to Gamespot OR IGN?

Both are known for selling reviews and general failure. Not saying that the score is wrong, I would give the game 7, 7.5 max.. But you can truly trust only Metacritics. They put an average of all reviews. Even if there are Eurogamers that give 2/10, there are other reviews, more reliable.

Yeah, I still remember when they gave a game 2/10. Wasn't that WAR?

I check gamerankings.com, which is like metacritic, and it has direct links to all reviews.

I listen to all sources -- ratings, reviews, fansite forums, non-fansite forums, word of mouth.

I think I'm going to cancel my subscription. Got too many things going on and no time to play. Also the grind-fest is getting to me.

Glad I have several games that doesn't required monthly payment to play. (MW2, Assassin's Creed 2, Borderland, Dragon Age... just to name a few)

Meh. I'm considering getting one of those cheap 15-day offers, to see if the bot problem and the weekend experience boosts are worth playing.

If not... hell, I still have to finish Borderlands, Red Faction Guerilla, BATMAN and few other games.
