Sucks for people that weren't involved in this incident and perhaps got rich by doing legit things in the game (drops or such) and had lost it all cause of this. >.>
I would know how that feels.. (similar thing happened to me in another game, losing something I earned legit and then losing it due to a service wide rollback).

Lodas Amulet gives you 20% more exp for an hour. Cant be traded.
They are better than nothing but not that great.
@bebe they just rolledback to the morning a couple hours before the glitch so its not like it screwed that much. Just if you happened to proc or get a drop during that time its bad

That's good that it wasn't that long of a period for the thing to have been out in the open.
If I remember correctly in the game I played they waited like a whole day before the rollback happened. And about half of the community didn't know of what happened and let's just say a lot of QQing was going on. xD

40% actually.
The 34 trillion doesn't mean they are incompetent, simply a bug. Bugs happen, hell, look at ANet, they had thousands of them.

There's a list of 420 bugs from Guild Wars.
Looks like the people at ANet aren't all that competent, right? Same thing can be said about any gaming company. As Fenix said, bugs happen. They happen in every game. It doesn't mean the company is incompetent. If a single bug/error meant a company was incompetent, then every single company in the world would be incompetent.

This.
If a company can release a game with no bugs, then they'll be hailed as being the best developer in history.
Facts, please.

I actually just want to bash them for having a security breach-able web page and makes people think I visited porn site, and for not believing me when I told them it was because of their web page, also for loosing my stuffs gather from over 5000 hours playing guild wars. Some I actually paid money to get! and those magazines aren't exactly cheap in my country. and that's the truth.

You sure it's 40%, not 20%? I mean, I know they changed rested exp to 40%, not sure if they did the same with the amulets.

Wow, rested XP is 40% now? I'm kinda glad I've given up that game and been embraced back into Guild Wars' warm loving bosom.
NCsoft dont like long grinds, and the people who reached 50 before everyone else were complaining that theres noone to play with (what did they expect?!) so they keep pushing and pushing to hurry exp gain along (giving out LOADS of lodas amulets, rested xp changing, increasing the xp gain from quests etc). I'm not sure I see the point in squeezing 50 levels in if you're going to give people the capacity to reach 50 in about 2-3weeks.
If you want a game which is centred around end game content then guild wars really does work well. Guild wars at least accomodated for those at the top level, with organised pvp, disorganised/random pvp, Hard mode missions and vanquishes, zaishen missions/bounties etc etc (Sure, i know these things are wearing a little thin now, but at the time they really made you want to play).
I played Aion for a good couple of months, reached lvl42 and then just burnt out - I found myself doing the same thing over and over (and I was in the 3rd Highest ranked legion on the server) grind AP, grind EXP, fortress battle, grind AP, grind EXP, fortress battle. The flying is fun but it doesn't make up for the other losses.

Before Internet was widespread, developers actually tested games and removed bugs before releasing them, so it was quite common to actually not have bugs in game and someone managing to release game with bug was cursed as worst developer in history.
I was quite surprised when i was looking for patch for Curse of the Monkey Island, assuming i'd pretty much need one to play. There was no patch. It was simply not needed.
It is just about how easy it is to patch stuff later ... they can get away with unfinished product, companies will do it.

Come on, I'm sure you of all people understand software complexity! Some of the biggest game project have a source code size quite close to that of Windows itself! Sure, you can point to the missing level of polish, but situations like the one of Aion are not rare any longer.
The days of moving a character on an overlay picture looking for hotspots are over, now every pixel is interactive, hidding behind it tons of information that must be updated via the network. It's like comparing HTML1.0 and XHTML5, or windows3.1 and win7.
What I feel modern games are missing is the FUN that the old ones had. How much laugh did I have with Sam&Max and Guybrush?! In passing, everyone should give a go to Machinarium's demo!

Im fairly positive Lodas is 20% and rest is 40%
And yeah its amazing how Wow has a rollback, gw has duping, 100g ecto, rollback, but suddenly aion has a glitch and rollback and they are a fail company and everyone is riding their sack.
