Game owns but you really need to edit a file to modify the font down to 12 sized font just to see some extra missing attributes your guns might have. (You'll be able to see up to 5 lines...unfortunately some items still might have 6 or 7 and there's no way to see these. Thanks, Gearbox)
Completely disagree with Faer tho, Brick is basically the best PvP character and is near unstoppable except by a Lilith who gets her Dazed off first. Morde beats Roland...but so does everyone else for that matter.

TOO BAD BRO.
Both Siren and Hunter can daze brick before he can get into melee range. At that point it's pretty much GG, assuming the Siren isn't asleep or the Hunter isn't retarded (and has a good gun). Brick is cool if the opponent isn't specced to daze, but anybody who enters the arena with plans to win will be.

I finally had a chance to pick this one up and play it and so far I'm having fun.
I've got a level 8 siren, 6 hunter, and 11 soldier. Only two deaths so far (I tried to take on nine-toes with a level 7 siren who was under-equipped), got him on the 3rd try.
Thoughts: I like the SMGs the most, but I've got to remember to use gun discipline or else I burn through ammo too fast. Plus my aim sucks when enemies are moving side to side. I either under-lead or over-lead. Pistols and Shot guns aren't so bad either vs normal foes. I wasn't much of an FPS fan before this game however sniping things is funner than I expected. I've noticed if you are really far away and take cover, mobs don't react when you shoot them... repeatedly.
For the special abilities, I'm not sure about phasewalking, but I like the bloodwing and scorpio turret. The turret isn't great though against skags as they can jump over it but the added firepower does help.
For PvE health regen is a must. Helped me take down the second quest boss without dying.

Hey any1 get Phasewalk?... whats the benefit to it? ( havent played siren much)...
But anyways for second boss, i'm assuming its the Fireboss in sledge safehouse, Just run around.. he very slow and take out the mini psychos with a shotty or Smg.. then just hit and run the boss... watch for his grenades tho...
If your talking about Sledge himself, (IDK if i got lucky or what) Take out ur sniper and get his shield off while he walks to u, strafe while doing so, then shotty him back and forth.. i prefer to jump over him and shoot down for 2 crits. spam ur Bloodwing like crazy.. and make sure u specced into the life steal skill for bloodwind. When i did that i got him down on my second wind.. (I phrased that wrong, he killed me, but i killed him before my timer was up) Btw Great help is Transfusion Grenades.... They are life savers

If you haven't played MUCH Siren, but you have played her at all (...it's implied), you would've known.
You could just use Bloodwing to take down his shields and then headshoot (verb) him few times.

Shadow, no the second boss I met was the one for the car quest.
About phasewalk, the range on the AOE isn't that great as far as I've seen. The best thing about it is that it stops the enemies from chasing you for a few seconds so the best I can see it used for as an escape route. Phasewalk -> haul butt outta there.

Ok just got this today, played a bit. I'll give my impressions but would like some feedback from those who have a better understanding.
I started out in single player, I chose the sniper guy. Things seemed pretty slow and I was using my starter sniper rifle the whole time. Got to level 5, to get my bloodwing. So far nothing seemed particularly fun nor special.
So then I joined a multiplayer game, to kill 9 toes and go a bit further. It would seem that a sniper is not well suited to mp games, because I'd rather be hitting from afar, and spotting enemies. In MP, it's about running and gunning, and once enemies start running around, it's very difficult to snipe them. Plus being at a distance has a disadvantage -- when loot drops, I'm the last one there. Also, since I haven't learned the ropes, I was pretty much just following people around, not having much of a clue what we were actually trying to do.
Should I just play single player as a sniper, or later on can I build my guy to fit in with a group better?

Honestly I tried doing the same thing Black. The gripe I have with sniping in Borderlands is that the projectiles seem to have a fairly long travel time and when you factor in lag and weapon accuracy it just becomes really hard to lay out headshots. My advice would be to play solo if you're honestly trying to snipe. There are other solutions though. You could focus on becoming a gunslinger (bonus to pistols and melee) whilst beefing up your pet with other skills. I don't know... The Hunter seemed like a lot of fun to me but I ended up in your same situation and I went back to playing my Siren. I tried to go all out sniper and ended up hating it because enemies tend to run to and fro like they're on drugs (and probably are). The other solution I suppose could be to ignore the class perferences and just pick up any weapon you like that has decent accuracy and a scope. Dahl I believe have very low recoil, so if you could find a nice repeater or machine pistol you could really be devastating. Machine pistols are absolutely insane but it's very hard to find one that has both high accuracy and low recoil, let alone a scope.

After playing Lilith a little more and looking at some of the upgrades to phasewalk, I'm starting to think it could have a lot of value.
BM, the first 5 or so levels are kinda slow. Especially if you don't hand in the shield quest until you buy a shield that has a quick health regen mod (takes a lot of quits and restarts to see one of those).
You problem is you are using a starting weapon which is junk. Honestly the swatter you get from that one chest would be a better sniping weapon. What you should have done is:
1. Grab the weapon chest on the roof of the motel where you first meet clap trap.
2. There's another weapon chest by the arena in the badlands. You can also snipe the level 9-10 skags from safety in one of the nearby shacks.
Just keep running one or both of those until you get a good blue shield that has the mod I mentioned. That'll last you through nine toes and skag gully if you are good.
I can't talk about MP much since I haven't done it yet. :`( But let me suggest one thing. Unless you are in a safe snipe spot, the first thing you snipe will usually alert it's friends. So basically you need to act like a puller because there are spots with groups of mobs you can pull and rest before hitting the next group in the area. So have your group stand back, pull with a snipe, and switch to your pistol. Make sure your group doesn't rush in.
Basically pull like a warrior in GW.

Headshots with a sniper rifle don't arouse suspicion form enemies if it instakills the person you're aiming at. I did my first play through with a hunter. And I must say I was very impressed. Everything looks amazing, and plays amazing too. I'm going to try another go at it soon, only this time I'll go online and play something else, maybe a brick or a siren. Quick question as I haven't checked, and can't be assed googling it, is there a random online feature for co-op mode? I would assume there would be one for pvp.

AoE burning, shock, and daze, plus increased movement speed, and health/shield regen? Yeah, I'd say there's a ton of value there. Strongest ability by far.

I still say Bloodhawk is the strongest. Especially if you abuse the bug.... Heh. Funny, but makes the game too easy.

Offense:
Walk > Hawk > Berserk > Sentry
Defense:
Walk > Sentry > Berserk > Hawk
General:
Walk > Berserk > Sentry > Hawk
Offensively, Hawk is a beast, but only hits 6-9 (or whatever the upper limit is with class mods) foes before recharging, and thus falls sort of the offensive capabilities of Walk, which can destroy multiple full groups of enemies with one activation. Defensively, Hawk provides some daze and health restoration. Thus, Walk is the stronger ability. I've done extensive testing of both abilities at level 50 with max upgrades, and Hawk, as badass as it is, always falls short.

I'm down with that.
Got a lvl 15 hunter and FINALLY (after 5 tries) I killed Sledge. The funny part about his death. I had to lured him to the doorway and get him stuck outside the path. Than I sniped from afar until he was dead. Since his shotgun has 0 range, I didn't get hurt!
Also got a lvl 5 Siren. Haven't gone far with her yet.

I wouldn't call the scorpio a good defense, particularly against melee, however the other two aren't that great either.
I'd also be interested in a MP game.

Hawk is more loot (mainly), dropping loot on attacks (doesn't even have to kill them), Daze, health recovery based on % of the damage (7-35%), and of course exploding mods.
8 or 9 enemies are guaranteed to be killed, especially if you put the right elemental damage mod. Even if you don't kill them with one hawk, they are heavily dazed and prone to headshots.
Don't forget that there are also abilities to both shorten the recharge and ones that lower recharge for every kill you make.
