Cool Headsets and Headphones

I use a Logitech camera with a built in mic mainly for Skype, TS, and Vent now. When I come on vent and TS people complain about hearing echo's or beeps or sounds that are not meant to be heard. I was just wondering if it was the camera with the built in mic itself or if it could be my computer. Also, on Skype I believe I sound fine; It’s just on TS and vent mainly that people hear echo's or beeps or my voice is too loud or perhaps even too quiet. I would also like some recommendations on a new headset that works absolutely wonderfully with vent and TS. I'm also looking to get a new pair of headphones for listening to music and gaming, if anyone can tell me some brands or products to look at that would be nice.

-Thank you

I'm betting that if you disable the camera's microphone the problem with disappear.

Could it be even the speakers?

I use a Razer Carcharias headset. Vent, music, etc. sounds great. Mic is really good too.

Plus it looks sweet

How much will that cost me? Looks like it's good for canceling outside noise. Hmm.

EDIT: Yikes! $80.00! Kind of steep. But it looks pretty interesting. Hmmm.

Ah sorry, I missed a few key words in your post. Didn't realize you were using the camera mic as your mic. It's just an issue of your mic picking up the sounds from your speakers.

As for headsets, if you just need one that is fine for VoIP, almost anything will work as long as the mic isn't made of lard. I, as well as some other members of the Guru staff and older members of the community that I chat with regularly, use this headset for VoIP, gaming, movies, and pretty much everything else. Despite the disgusting HURR DURR THIS IS A FATAL1TY PRODUCT branding, it's a nice headset for a price that won't empty your wallet out.

I am using a Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 and I have heard it picks up a lot of back round noise. But like Theocrat said, I also think its an issue between my mic and speakers. It also costs $100 on Amazon so I would expect it to work well with VoIP but apparently it does not.

I am currently checking out a headset similar to the one Theocrat described but I heard there was a newer one and its the Creative Labs HS-800 Fatal1ty Gaming Headset

I would go for a Sennheiser set my self. I picked up a gaming headset around $90 and it works great.

Should be around $30-50 ( it doesn't give the price because it's "currently unavailable" ). It's rather cheap in price but has excellent sound quality and a nice mic. I've bought two of these just so I have one to take everywhere

You can buy a quality pair of headphones and just buy a microphone which will attach itself to the cord of your headphones. Search for a zalman microphone.

I just bought a nice comfortable pair of headphones and put the mic on the cord and it's better than anything else I have had.
