Okay, the accuser was said to have been intoxicated and not aware of what was going on. But then she made a report saying that Roethlisberger raped her. I'm sorry, what? She didn't realize she was being dragged to the bathroom but she could positively say Roethlisberger raped her? Sorry, but there are a lot of holes in the story. Part of me does believe she is just looking for attention.

The truth of it all is a person in his position shouldn't put himself in situations where things can happen. Mr. Rooney pays him good money to represent the team in a positive way and Ben doesn't seem to get that. I have my suspicions that there may have been a payoff to keep her quite, just my thoughts.

You are missing my point again and again.

Ocmulgee Circuit District Attorney Fred Bright said Monday that after exhaustive interviews and inconclusive medical exams, the student's accusations could not be proved beyond a reasonable doubt. He also revealed the young accuser no longer wanted him to prosecute.

He is innocent in the eyes of the law so there is nothing that can be done. This girls story keeps changing and maybe she is the one with the alcohol problem. While it may have looked bad and portrayed Roethlisberger in a negative light the fact remains he is innocent and in the end the two had drunken sex together.
ADDED: Assuming your assumption that there was a payoff to keep this woman quiet about a situation taking place that was illegal that would make her look even worse for not following the legal process to convict someone that committed a crime. What I mean is it doesn't help her case if she accepts hush money because now she just looks like she is full of shit.

There is no doubt that he not getting the Steelers good PR. That is not at all in question here. That is easily the truth, he needs to shape up or he needs to be traded. Yes he was found to be innocent due to a lack of hard evidence but that doesn't change the fact that this is his 2nd known time getting into such a predicament. He puts himself in these situations and while ya, the woman could be lying to get attention and money, he needs to clean up his life.

Maybe in the eyes of the law, but in the eyes of the public (and in the truth) that might not be true. I say trade the bum to the raiders. I'd almost suggest the bills, but I don't want them winning.

No and that's why I don't want him going there... they might get one.
The Pats are in rebuilding mode but are still good enough for the playoffs. The Jets look like they could make a SB run. All the phins need is a little defense now and they'll be in the think of it. IMO a division with 4 contenders would be a division that'll be too beat up to send anyone to the SB.
