Interesting.

Environmental weapons - In the hands of a skilled Elementalist, a simple boulder can be turned into a meteor storm. Or save the day by taking control of a siege weapon on the battlefield!

This looks fun, though it doesn't sound too Guild Warsy. And shouldn't it sorta be in the ritualist-type skills? Elementalist just magically taking control of a siege tower? Scarryyy... fun. I wonder what a mesmer could do in GW2.

It sounds like it's going to be a game of so much opportunity. Looking forward to it. I love very diverse play styles in a game, it's quite attractive.

Nothing just like they do in GW now. Support role is about all. They will be shunned and come to GW2 forums to cry about it. Nothing really new.

Mesmers or something like them are almost certain from concept art, albeit they seem to have picked up some fencing skills. Meaning they have some built-in direct damage to compliment punisher mechanics.

For all those WoW/GW players, let us dissect this first bullet made:
Quote:
Visual and dynamic combat - Maneuver around an opponent to strike for maximum damage...
|
Alright, cool, you can crit people by hitting their back. Just like WoW...
Quote:
...turn into a massive tornado...
|
Isn't this a druid skill? Except it's more of a "Wail of Doom" insted of loldealingdmg...
Quote:
or summon a flock of vicious birds of prey to swarm your enemies
|
Insect Swarm, but with birds...?
Wow, nice! (I'm not sure whether pun intended or not..)
Don't get me wrong, WoW IS pretty fun , and I have heard from many that "GW2 WILL BE NOTHER WOW GUIES," but hey, lets hope the pvp is still fun =/..

I lost all hope for GW2 due to GW1 updates.
Combat seems slow.
Eles still have skanky outfits, I don't want to buy obsidian just to cover myself.
Looks like they ported male ranger norn into gw2.
Graphics look as though something a 7300 could accomplish.
shooting arrows through a flaming wall to create a barrage of fiery projectiles
Let me guess, lava arrows?
sending pets through a cloud of poison so they spread the toxin among the enemy.
You mean how disease works now...?
A skill system that is easy to learn and rewarding to master - In Guild Wars 2, you start with a strong base set of skills, but the game allows for deep player customization
A skill system that is mostly grinding- In Guild Wars 2, you start with a strong base set of skills, but must grind titles and do useless quests to get the ones people want
Distinctive Mechanics - Glyphs, Signets, Conjurations, and Attunements provide a distinctive set of mechanics that foster versatility and garner grand results, ranging from area-of-effect destruction to defensive snares.
Already have that.

Shiek where did you see all these graphics? Norn ranger, poor graphics etc. I just saw the little interview.
Not to mention do people really think what they see now will be what is rolled out at launch? If GW2 is a year out give or take a month or two then you can rest assured it will be much different.
Everything ive seen or read so far seems pretty fresh and new, im not willing to bury GW2 because of the stagnation of GW1. GW is simply trying to run out the clock and bring as many of us with as it can. I dont expect Anet or anyone else to devote tremendous resources to a game on its last leg.
Enjoy GW for what its worth, and ill be anxiously awaiting GW2.

Yes, WoW invented the backstab... every other game just ripped off their idea.

Damn you Gary Gygax, how dare you invent a time machine, travel into the future to steal this idea from WoW, then travel back to the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing 70s to scribble it into your silly little pen and paper game that no one's ever heard of...
The second any RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOwit declares that someone stole something from WoW I am bemused.
PS: RIP mighty EGGman.
