Finally, the GW2 information flows :)
I'm just happy we're finally there. Finally, real information about GW2 has started to flow. Finally, the mists start to clear.
It's just been a long wait with wery little known. Now at least, we have something to fuel our imaginations (and discussions )
Way to go, Anet

It can only get better from here. Sure the videos are bound to be more dramatic than in-game and the talk about the skill system will be dumbed to efficiency/effectiveness instead of doing the elaborate things they are talking about, but I am more excited than ever and will probably check everyday now for new updates.

That is a big statement...
And speaking for my self...I will be as happy to play GW 2 the same as I still
do GW 1 after 5 years. And I'll think there will be many with me

LOL! What grind? Where? Do you know what you're talking about? Go try play Aion or something before posting nonsense. There's no grind in GW and nothing suggests there will be any in GW2.

Interesting that GW2 has voice indications whenever the character casts certain skills.
I remember a long time ago, I complained about the lack of voice indications in GW1 after coming from Diablo, where your shouts are REALLY human shouts rather than some lame beeps.

ooh you have a crystal ball, that tells you the future. It might not be as popular. It might be the same. It might be MORE popular. What makes you so confident that you can speak for "everyone", and you know how it will turn out?

I lol every time people cry and whine about grind.
I lol every time people say a-net "lied"
I lol every time people say a-net "promised" something, and then "broke" that imaginary promise.
There IS grind in GW if you WANT to grind.
But you don't have to grind if you don't want to, just like a-net says.
The game is still great, without the paltry/cosmetic rewards you get for choosing to grind.
The trouble is, people just can't let go of a game once they've done all the fun stuff. And they blame a-net for their own inability to move on, and call it "being forced to grind".

Skill is greater than time spent playing and as far as the no grind goes they were telling the truth by leaps and bounds when compared to their competition. If you had actually read the updates about GW2 you would know that the whole kill stealing factor has already been dealt with for the open world scenario because everyone who takes part in a kill gets full credit regardless of if they were grouped with the person who got the first hit off or not(dynamic pugs anyone?).
I'm sure though that you will find something to complain about no matter how ridiculous what you're saying is so my advice to you is to uninstall GW from your computer, stop coming to this forum and go play something else as you obviously don't like the game or company and as such have no sense even being here(what are you retarded? get out of here). You are not needed nor will you be missed. This goes for all you other Anet doomsayers such as the ones that complained about the "costumes" even though you didn't have to get them and those of you that come here to tell everyone that the game is dead in spite of there being plenty of people in game and on here(just because you keep saying it doesn't make it true no matter how much you wish you had that kind of power ).

8 years old exist in every single game! The monthly charged issue aren't an issue to those kids when they have mommy's credit card!
With the improved graphics, more animated wonderful spell effect and all the long-wait. GW2 will be popular at least for all the GW1 and fresh new players.

some more interesting stuff out on the Anet blog:
- 10-slot skill bar, 5 skills are determined by the weapon set
- 5 skills can slot freely, with the caveat that you have to bring one heal and one elite skill
- Players will be unable to change professions in Guild Wars 2
- We’ve developed Guild Wars 2 so that it’s a completely soloable ... We’ve designed the eight professions to be self-sufficient; everyone has some form of self-healing and they all have a wide range of skills that allow them to play solo
Seems to me that a lot of things get simplified/ unified towards solo play?! Oh well, I try to keep my mind open until I can try ;-))

While they did away with the companions idea, some professions will have pets. And, although they have made it easy to run around solo, you can still group up before leaving town or just join in on what is going on in the area at the time. There won't be henchmen or heroes.
There will be eight professions (no secondary prof) broken out as Scholars (3), Adventurers (3) and Soldiers (2). You will not be able to change either race or profession after creation due to the personal back story you develop during the creation process.

Fabulous - beacuse the point of a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER ONLINE ROLE PLAYING GAME is to play solo like an anti-social RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOtard.
MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER - millions of people to play with
ONLINE - connecting to a billion other people
ROLE PLAYING - as defined against a group of people - playing with yourself is meaningless
I think heroes made GW crap and I think people who want to solo should just play offline games.
