Seriously? Boston over Buffalo and Phoenix over Detroit? Detroit is one of the hottest teams in the NHL at the moment. I see them taking it in 5. I think Buffalo takes theirs in 6 though I will say it is more possible in my eyes for Boston to win that series than Phoneix to win against Detroit.
I am glad to see my Avs back in the playoffs even though they will make an early exit. They are a young team and need a goalie but they should be better next year.
Chicago, Oh Chicago... They are so talented but their goaltending needs to become more solid for them to win the cup.

Boston has beaten Buffalo 4 out of 6 games this year. If the Bruins defense wasn't so banged up I could see the them going deep, as is I say one series win and out.

My bad, I meant Detroit was going to win. Phoenix had an amazing season, but they have no idea what the postseason is. As for Boston, yeah, I'm serious. Underdogs baby.
And yeah, I'm glad the Avs are back too. I miss the days with Sakic, Forsburg, and Roy, when they had that huge rivalry with Detroit.

Sakic, Foresburg, and Roy? You left out Bourque! Can't forget him, of course he was only there for a while, long enough to get a Stanely Cup Championship. And their games with Detroit really made hockey worth watching.

the Bruins have the momentum right now, even without Savard (thank you Matt Cooke). And they are 4 - 2 this year against Buffalo. So they have a chance. Hopefully they get the number 1 or 2 pick in the lottery this Thursday.

Who would you pick as a team that could surprise. I would go with Ottawa. (I am assuming Dome would go with the Flyers).

I think Ottawa could surprise us and make it to the conference finals if they played like they did during their 11 game win streak, but I highly doubt it. However if they can manage to get past Pittsburgh the first round, it would be quite possible.
Honestly, I don't see any underdogs surprising everyone by making it to the finals this year, but you never know.

First off Arky, you've got the West's 2-7 and 3-6 mixed up - Hawks get Nashville while the Canucks get LA. Don't know if that changes your mind any, but whatever.
My predictions for the East:
Washington over Montreal in 4
New Jersey over Philadelphia in 6
Boston over Buffalo in 7
Pittsburgh over Ottawa in 6 (sorry Arky, but I agree they'll probably make East finals if Ottawa wins)
Washington over Boston in 7
New Jersey over Pittsburgh in 6
New Jersey over Washington in 6
For the West:
Colorado over San Jose in 6 (it's the Sharks, I have no reason to believe they won't fail)
Chicago over Nashville in 5
Vancouver over Los Angeles in 7
Detroit over Phoenix in 6
Chicago over Colorado in 5
Vancouver over Detroit in 7
Chicago over Vancouver in 6
Cup:
Chicago over New Jersey in 6

Ottawa and Philly managed to pull off wins tonight. If both can manage to go home with 2 wins, I'm confident that both will win the series.
Listened to some sports networks/radio stations, quite a few were talking about whoever wins between Ottawa and Pittsburgh are going to go straight to the finals, which is quite interesting. Going to keep my hopes up.

Ovechkin had no shots on goal, wtf. Habs beat Caps, even bigger wtf. I really don't know what to say.
The round of the underdogs? It's looking that way.

Nah, not into any of that stuff.
Anyways, what an amazing game. One of the most physical games I've ever seen (last I checked there were 70 total hits), and both goalies were amazing. Crosby played an amazing game, and saved the Pens from a very potential loss. Series tied at 1 going back to Ottawa, still liking the odds.

I meant more of a Sens fan in general, but yeah, it was a good game, and a game in where Ottawa's best players, Alfie, Spezza & Fisher are still somewhat...absent. If the rest of the team can hold the Pens to this level while those three start playing a little more noticeably, it's going to be a very memorable series.

Yeah, I'm a Sens fan.
Anyways, it seems that I really underestimated Montreal, LA and Nashville. They definitely aren't going out without a fight.

I'm also a Sens fan =D actually I'm about 5.5 klicks from the rink. If I go up on my roof I can see the giant red letters that say Scotia Bank Place.
heh, yeah, every series save one is tied at one. Round 1 is definately going to be interesting. It's a shame that the Sens couldn't have held on just a little bit long. If they'd made it to OT, we could have taken advantage of the Pens being down a d-man we could have come home up 2 to nothing. That would have been awesome!
