Remember all the accusations that NCSoft and ArenaNet were "hacked" and people were getting their accounts stolen left and right because of it? Well (as it was then, and now) that was a load of bullshit because we are now looking at that accusation again only this time it's REAL and it's happening to a different online game service. This is what happens when an online game service is hacked. If I recall correctly, NCSoft and ArenaNet didn't shut down for weeks when people were getting hacked left and right.
Just a little proof that we didn't suffer anything like this.
I'm one of the many who own an SOE account. I created it in 2007 and I've played EverQuest II and Vanguard on such account.
If you don't store your credit card information on your accounts, you will be fine. I didn't have credit card information stored on mine, and if I did still, it was one or two various visa giftcards that have long since been drained dry and expired.
Other information was stolen too like (name, dob, address, email, hashed password) etc... Thats why you always keep passwords different among various services. As for your name, dob and address, there's not too much you can do at this point.
