yeah I AM a packrat...but she only lived in the place for like 3 years (I moved her INTO that unit from her old 2 bedroom apartment---spent 3 days that time just going thru BOXES of papers--19 of them, left 3 for my sister) one of my brothers was down to see her a few weeks ago and got the paper box duty (though while cleaning, yes we found MORE).
however, I hope to not end up like my mom---currently she is basically bed bound due to some idiotic medical treatments (both current and from the early 1970's)....so she has basically no feeling from the waist on down---I AM keeping up on my calcium and other vitamins (had a bone density test done--I am still in the green!).
also
I have no kids who will be going thru my stuff when I pass on---it will most likely be some of my grand nieces or nephews who will get to (or just donate the whole thing to a museum)...and that wont be for many, many years.

I seem to remember you moving her in cosy. I recall you going to Florida to sift through boxes and boxes of stuff. I hope you don't end up like her either. Luckily medical treatment is much improved since the 70's, which is a huge plus. Always good to keep your vitamins and calcium levels up.

dang, been here that long

didnt get much sleep while I was there (and allergy meds cant handle dust--)
though I did get to watch all of the harry potter stuff (my sister turned it on since my mom has no radio)......think I have had enough of him for a while.

And I've been here longer lol (Here being the forums, not the world). My gf loves the Harry Potter movies so I'm sure I'll be dragged to the final one since I have seen all the others with her. And gas here is $3.85, which is alright I guess. Still want it to drop more.

amazon waited 3 extra days before they bothered to send mine out ---should have gone out on friday, nope went out on TUEsday--got it thrusday....I could have gone to best buy or even walmart and gotten the day it came out for the same price

)

I have been here longer too....just didnt realize it had been that long---heck I think I have been a super for about a year now.

Ya, I wouldn't see it on my own accord, that is for sure. But since my gf wants to see it that means I get to suck it up and see it. And I have always had success pre-ordering stuff from Amazon. Always got it on release date.

welllllllll I am not lucky so I got mine a week after it was released on dvd

have had other issues with them as well (sending me the wrong thing, then telling me that while it should be on back order they arent going to get anymore--and I wont have to pay for it when I already had----).

boy rain and more rain...hope everyone is ok---that last set was pretty intense!

Sometimes amazon sends stuff later than release, when those times come up I usually get it in the store and cancel my preorder. Not that big of a deal.

no, not a big deal, but a pain to cancel (and pray they give you your money back---or spend months arguing with amazon and your cc to hope to get it resolved). So I just wont be pre-ordering any longer, I have learned that I can get stuff just as quick and for just as little hassle by getting in my car and going to one of the vid stores. Pre ordering just aint that necessary any more.

sister says gas still over $4 where she is at, but coming down a bit.

I got gas the other day for $3.79 while the rest of the stations around were still $3.85. That was a lovely surprise.

I might get my Amazon stuff on release day because I have Amazon Prime... (Student of course). I love prime but I don't buy enough to justify going to regular prime for $70 a year or whatever.

Amazon does not charge you at all til the product is shipped. And cancelling preorders is easy as heck. Maybe its just user error.

Gas went down to $4.27 by me, that's the cheapest it's been in about a month.

And I never preorder from amazon. The only thing I ever preorder is video games, and I work in a game store. I just preorder there and get it the instant it releases. No having to wait for anything!

my pre-order wasnt charged, but they also said it had been mailed on that friday (found out it hadnt gone out until tuesday)....the other item I returned to amazon and then they sent me a thing saying it was on b/o then another saying it was out of stock and I would not be charged for it, however, I had been sent the incorrect item (which I had returned) so I had already been charged for it!--no user error here, thank you.
and it shouldnt take a week to get something from the next state over! (so when I had decided to cancel it they had said--its already been mailed, NOT!--so I had to wait another 3 days to get it, as I said, I could have gone to the local walmart and gotten one the day it came out without having to wait for amazon to mail something out--will now ONLY use them for japanese stuff from japan --amazon.co.jp).
not a happy camper with them this year.
and the local borders just closed up--barnes and noble already gone....no books stores left!

oh well, used to like to peruse the cookbook section as well as the sci-fi sections for any missing titles....guess I will spend less on gas if there is no book stores to go to anymore.

price went up because someone SAID that the economy was getting better--so the idiots (us americans) can afford to pay more (it was probably an oil exec).

prices go up because they hear a thunderstorm happened somewhere (gee maybe those we have been having the last few days are the reason)--even though none of the process of making or delivering gas is anywhere in the region of the thunderstorm--but just that massive news worthy event it enough to do it (I think)
