The thing about plant pollution is that they pollute the Earth with oxygen from CO2. It is the animal kingdom that creates the CO2 and CH4, the plants are our filters.

Indeed RR is correct. If the plants didn't "pollute" we would all suffocate due to a lack of Oxygen. Without plants the CO2 levels in the air would be MUCH higher. Yes, there have been worse times but not due to human CO2 production. We can recover from this and lower the CO2 PPM in the atmosphere IF we stop producing so much CO2. But that will not solve the warming of the Earth as much as people seem to think it will.

I won't say humans activities don't have anything to do with global warming and such. But this thing just got overblown out of proportion...the can't even tell if it will rain tomorrow yet the can say that the water level will rise by 1 meter.
Kind of like 10-15 years ago they said that by 2050 will be 12 billions, now they are lowering that number to 9.
(by "they" read whoever made those assumptions).

the statisticians get lots of work when it comes to stuff like that---and as we all know you can read stats just about anyway you want to interpret them, so they are basically meaningless (kinda like those economists that say the recession ended last june, just because one stat is higher doesnt mean squat to the rising unemployment rate and such).
yes there is a lot more co2 in the air, are we the sole cause, no, can we REALLY do something about it, not really----though having a few hundred thousand less humans might (and heck we are having wars to try to do that right??????)
bleh....lets get onto something a little less ........
though I do believe those are some of the longest posts I have seen from pwnd in sometime.

This is the most CO2 ppm in the atmosphere ever that they can find I believe. This is also based up on ice cores they have taken from the arctic to see the CO2 levels in the atmosphere thousand of years ago. (I think, I'm doing this from memory lol) So yes humans have had an impact on how much CO2 is in the atmosphere but we do not know the severity of the effect.
Also the Earth goes through warming and cooling cycles. These aren't like decade long cycles, these are century or LONGER cycles. We have only started measuring temperature in the past century or so. So is the whole humans causing global warming true or is this just another cycle of the Earth? I know that a scientist in California has said that global cooling has started, which would lead to lower temperatures and a refreezing of the ice caps.
Having a few million less humans would be more helpful imo lol But again, we can't do anything about that unless we take China's view on it and start restricting families to only 1 kid. The repercussions for such an idea in America would be astronomical though. Want to piss people off? Try that lol

lol That is because this is something I understand to a bit of a higher level than other things and something I see everyday being a biology major.

yes earth's cycles are much longer than we have been taking data to ascertain....so some of our data might not (probably) show the whole picture...you can get more by examining ice or mud cores (my hubby's masters thesis was on something along those lines and I read it and understand bunches of it ---), but I doubt in our life times we will be able to say it was the sole fault of the human population that caused or didnt cause these changes ---we can say that there is a probability (ack stats) that we may have contributed but that is all .....
so pwnd all I have to do is throw out some biology stuff and you will write a novel too????

Seems we have found pwnd's on button. For all those who enjoy a good steak, cattle is a major cause for methane gas in the atmosphere.

Indeed, we can say we probably did but we can not say we definitely did or not. And yes, cores are very important to analyze many different things.
lol Ya, for the most part that is true cosy.

lol This would be true cosy.
I would probably burn down the house if I tried to make something sadly. My mom hardly lets me even make frozen pizza, let alone anything more than that lol
So excited... Usually sleep in until 7:50am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. But today was fire drill day! Yay! They pulled it at 7:25... by the time we got back in it was pointless to go back to bed. Bastards... Robbing me of 25 minutes of sleep!
