I used to watch Burn Notice and House, i guess i got tired of the spy thing and the whole doctor stuff. I'll watch an episode here and there, but i can't watch a marathon or something lol

I can watch the spy thing, cause it is something that interests me and I find neat. House, never really got into House. Never really got into any doctor show tbh. House is like OMG CRAZY UNKNOWN DISEASE KILLING PERSON! then failed attempt after failed attempt before they figure it out and OMGZ HOUZE U DA BEST DOCTOR EVERRRRRRRRRRRR. ZZzzzzz

I do get pretty tired of those on occasion. If it weren't for House, I'd stop watching altogether.

Same goes for NCIS, but then again that goth chick is pretty hot.

I think Ziva is better looking than Abby. But that is just me.

I'm watching Bad Boys II atm. Great movie. Lots of explosions and stuff. Sweet.

Oh and our well house pump failed so we had no water for like 8 hours. It's back on but it isn't working to well...

Lol epic day today while on my roadtrip. I just attended my first con. My friends and I decided to go to Otakon 2010 after the Final Fantasy concert. So my week has been filled with geeky goodness.

I felt so out of place not dressing up.

ah your first con...sniff sniff....I remember mine... back in 1984----well, no trip down memory lane today. I only did the dressing up thing at the anime cons--and only 2 of those, otherwise I just wore an appropriate t-shirt (sci-fi con, star trek shirt, anime con, ranma 1/2 tshirt etc).

wound up watching the last season of sg1 on dvd since the lack of programming yesterday (and my shoulder is still pretty messed up so hard to type).

SG1 was a good show. I really like it. Atlantis on the other hand is just meh imo.

yeah as they made other shows the premise just got way out there. I liked the original much better than the others as well. (just not happy with the last one which I just watched again)
went out for seafood yesterday...ate waaaaaaaaay too much (should have walked home), but the crab legs were fresh and my hubby got to have his 'whole lobster' he had wanted a few weeks back.

and another month is upon us, cant believe its august already.

I've wanted to go to Otakon for a few years now, but never had the money or time to do so. Maybe another year. I am going to the con in Detroit at the end of October though.

yeah me too, have not been to one (outside of WorldCon in 2007 in Yokohama as well as one in 2000, which are science fiction cons and no one dresses up--lots of people who read all the books on the awards list type-people attend)...last one was an anime one in 2000--or 2001, cant quite remember, I sold a big Pikachu (my husband had gotten for me...it was 3 feet tall and we had really no where to put it). I got another smaller stuffed toy instead.
I only really went to the cons for the dealers rooms anyways, and now with the advent of the internet I dont really need that (I started going in '84--no internet as you know it back then)...so I think I went to a few after college and then we moved to where there are no conventions----ah long time ago...and a place pretty dang freakin far away.

--dont like crowds either and with nothing else for me, I dont really have a reason to go anymore....blast I am so tired today (could have something to do with hubby's phone going off in the middle of the night with some server outage

8 cuts on the left foot. Running barefoot on dry coral can be dangerous xD.

Spent yesterday afternoon at the beach.

Never been to a con. None happening around where I am. Even if there was one I doubt I'd go.

dealer room: at a convention this is where to BUY stuff. If its a sci fi con, at the dealers room you will find all different merchants selling stuff from star trek to v to really bad b movies...you need a poster from star trek 2--you will probably find it here, a poster of say Michael Shanks, yup that will be there too along with dolls, keyfobs, pins, mugs, books, dvds and there will probably also be merchants there who sell other stuff like manga.
Depending on the convention your dealers room can be tiny (the old creation cons of the late 80's) or really huge (like Gencon). I have been to some cons where there were only a handful of merchants and others where the line to get into the dealers room was around the block (AnimeExpo)!!! (never been to comic con but that is the same size idea).

but now the internet has done away with my motive for going....why pay $70 for admission and drive some miles away and book a hotel, pay for food et al when now I can walk to my computer and buy the same stuff from the same dealers who would be there????? (and anytime of the day or year).

yeah yeah for the people, wellllllllllll I have had enough of the people for my lifetime and the information given out at cons will get to me thru the internet at some point.
