Sorry for the necromancy, but reading the latest book from the series, A Dance with Dragons, I couldn't help but associate the Children of the Forest with the Sylvari. I wonder if they had any part in the inspiration of the race.

Don't forget Storm of Swords!
Up to A Feast for Crows myself. I loved all the books until this point, but I'm losing interest with Crows. Took me two months to read the first 4 books together, Crows has taken me over 3 and I'm just over half-way... I hear the end and the next book pick up the pace again. Here's hoping... |
