Default Epic facts; Nostalgia you remember

ITT: name memorable facts in the years of playing guild wars.


To start of here are a few things i remember worth mentioning for nostalgia.



1. ecto's were worth 80k each

2. Titan gems used to be 80k each too

3. Max runes and mods were so rare that they usually werent even used in pvp play, so you ended up with low hp, and sup vigor used to go for 80k

4. When tombs (heroes ascent) was introduced it had more maps and map rotations.

5. Wammos (warrior with mending and healing hands(elite) were imba and basicly sologanking was the meta. Was supereffective too in both gvg as well as ha.

6. the zaishen npc's did contribute to the hero title track and many people farmed them for fame.

7. Holding halls for your continent enebled entry to UW and FOW.

8. having obsidian armor was like being a real life millionair and automaticly meant to be pro or exp/ w/e they called you.

9. many titles didnt even exist at first and were introduced until after.

10. when hb was introduced hb was introduced there was no title for it.


I have many more to come, be my guest and add some if you know.

*disclaimer: some facts may not be 100% accurate in which case feel free to correct.

11. tank and spank was being used for almost all farms with dmg dealers usually being barrage rangers or fire nukers

12. gaile gray came regulary ingame and usually stayed a long time and actually chatted about everything with you ingame.

13. saying fukc you ingame didnt get you banned.

14. sorrows furnace was one of the best group farms, some greens costed like 300k

15. elemental sword was like 1000k

16. bloodspike wasnt prottable and imba and with it many people got easy champ/ fame

17. sinsplit was super easy with VoD and in 1006/2007 also got easy champs and even gold trims

18. shovespike in ta back in 2008 got me 300+ consecutive wins

19. boa sins were imba prenerf and everyone was running them for months

20. when the Rit was introduced there was no spiritcap as for minions : also no cap

22. Droknar's Forge runs used to earn me 10k per person!
23. Weapon swapping to manage perma Shadow Form on my A/Me to run Marhan's Grotto for people (earning 40k per person!)
24. UW SC that actually used to be fun...8 min mtns heyo!

Tombs has been in since 2003-2004, it wasn't "introduced" i still have screenshots of it before the area had any textures on it, and WAMMO's used Healing Hands because it wasn't an elite originally fyi.

26. Finding Weapons with max mods were once worth something.
27. Inscriptions didn't exist before NF.
28. HA used to be 6man teams.
29. HA used to be fun.
30. Red Resign got HB removed.
31. Codex arena is'nt the same as Sealed Deck.
32. Chests used to drop either all Gold or all Grape, and players would bitch 5min over who gets to open it first (hence the birth of (the original) perma sins).
33. Mesmers were once useless in pve, and banned from all serious groups.
34. Minions didn't have a limit and didn't degen.

35. You couldn't go to Lion's Arch and not see [KISS] recruiting.
36. When a requirement to join any guild wasn't ventrilo.
