Alternatives for GW
So, I play Guildwars with my girlfriend, we are in long distance and see each other every four months. We chose GW bc: 1) I knew it was good, 2) no grind , 3) it runs on her macbook (using wine).
Now I'm hearing rumors of the plug beeing pulled on GW, that combined with us entering waaaay late into the community, I have the feeling I'm investing time (multiple chars) in something that won't stay for years to come. I will probably stay anyway bc we love the game, but I was wondering if you had some suggestions in case we have to change one day.
Requirements:
- The game must have a future, or more future than GW1
- Strongly prefere the instanced system; she doesn't like to play with many people
- Cannot be state of the art graphics, and run on mac
- She's ok with grind now; but not Lineage II hell-like grind
Things I thought of myself are:
- Elder Scrolls online, but thats very expensive + graphics are too demanding.
- Dungeons and Dragons online, although I don't know if it has higher life expectancy than GW.
Any suggestions are welkome.

Firstly, I don't put much stock in the whole 'they're mass banning people so they can shut down GW1' talk, but perhaps that's naivete on my part. I think you'll be fine with GW. Other than that though, does it necessarily have to be an MMO? There are games like Baldur's Gate that are designed as single player but have multiplayer capabilities. Never tried using it though.

Thx for your suggestions; I will surely look at those threads.
As I said, there is no reason for us to leave gw other than I fear it might die, and I've had my fair share of participating in communities that died. To be clear: I don't think the banwave signals the plug being pulled (quite unlogical conspiracy theory, they don't need to keep a community first to stop), to me it signals quite the opposite. What worries me is that I read they don't respond to support questions anymore. Anyways, that's off topic.
Given it doesn't die, i still wonder what role there is for us to play...
Did Anet ever talk about a GW3 btw?

Hello. They do respond to the questions, and usually, it takes no more than 3-5 days to receive an answer, at least if you're asking rather regular and easy-to-handle things, not involving page-lengthy requests "to unban these 10 accounts I've never botted or synced on".
