Looks like you sent the rain our way. Been raining all day long.

Just got back from my folks house. We went down there to visit them, my grandparents, and see our friends daughter get baptized. Made it back in time for the Selection Show (trainwreck of a show this year...) and some relaxation before heading back to the grind tomorrow.

yep, rain here too...good thing as it will wash the stain on our driveway, seems our transmission has been leaking

....and now its in the shop getting fixed. Hope its not a sign of things to come (the rain or the transmission).

Oh man that is not good. Transmission repairs can get very pricey, very quick... Trust me, I know.

Hope it is nothing serious...

Supposed to get more rain tomorrow and some storms. We will see what happens.

it managed to make it into the 4 digits

and worse yet, I was driving it home and I smelled a burnt tire/oil smell....not knowing much about cars (after my crx ...) I called the dealership back up (and after multiple times getting dc'd) finally spoke to someone...however they were not very helpful, short story, had to take the car back today (got me a 2016 forrester loaner...dammmn there are too many new dodads and thingamagigies on these new cars!...too much craap to look at when I should be keeping my eyes on the road!!!!) sooo ...they looked at the car and said the new seals they had put in were leaking --guess they were defective (or the tech who put them in did it wrong--but they would never even suggest that or admit it if that were the facts)...either way, they are going to fix it --no cost to me and I get to have a swanky new car in my driveway for at least today (and the weekend if they cant get the parts over here)...like the color, not too much a fan of much else on it though.

and yeah, I'm still here, poorer than before but still here.

Sorry to hear that cosy... Cars can be such a huge hassle sometimes... Especially when they "fix" it and then that happens. That is no fun at all... But have fun with the Forrester. They are supposed to be nice cars.

I have an 02 forester, this was the 16? 15? one...it was fun to drive around, though it was too high for me and the outside mirrors were too far back on the door to be really useful. Also decided the panel with the radio, etc is not something they should really have in cars--it is very distracting and the back up view on it is waaay toooo small to be useful either.
Think I will just keep my good ole lady 02 and her even older buddy 97 corolla

having a loaner car is about the only time I get to drive the newer model cars now....been a long time since my last one.

They do enjoy putting all sorts of bells and whistles on new cars. The one thing that new cars have that I really like is USB ports. I'm able to plug my ipod in to listen to music instead of sifting through countless CDs or 12 radio stations. Miss that in the Civic since it is an 03. The Altima at least has a Aux port...

ipod?! dont all the new cell phones have music storage now (my hubbys old one did--the whole reason why he got that phone, and seeing as they are going to no longer support his phone with his cell contract, it is really old)?
The loaner I had even had the hands free phone stuff in the steering wheel (pick up and hang up buttons)....and I still dont even have a cell phone (still dont really have a reason to have one either--my landline is cheaper than a cell contract and does everything I need right now

lol Alright fair enough on the ipod... I have a bluetooth wireless speaker in my car that connects to my phone. That allows me hands free calling and answering with only a push of the button. So that is a plus.

We got snow on Thursday as well. Not much, not even enough to stick, but enough to make driving in it a pain. We also got some hail that day which I did get the pleasure of driving through. Luckily it was small hail.

Still can't believe you don't have a cell phone. If not just for safety reasons while out driving.

you arent allowed to talk on a phone while driving, and I usually dont go very far (doctors, groceries, etc), so I really see no need....never had one before 'when I was driving' so not really a good reason to have one now.

yeah, the snow fell...made a small mess...and then almost as quickly --melted; didnt see any hail here, but then again, I might not have noticed it

and since its that time of year...

You aren't allowed to talk on it while driving unless you have a hands free device. At least that is the rule here where I live. If you have a speaker or earpiece or it is wired into your car then it is okay. Otherwise it is illegal.

Welp down at my folks for a couple days. Grandma is having a pacemaker put in tomorrow so I'm here to be helpful. Outpatient surgery so hopefully all goes well...

Surgery went well, she ended up passing out as they were getting ready to discharge her so she got to stay overnight. She came home yesterday and seems to be doing well. So yay there.

We had some storms move through today. Including one with a little bit of hail. Made for a fun run to pull the car into the garage before the hail got too bad...

pwnd, good to hear about your gram, probably a good thing to have her stay overnight anyways...I think they send folks home too soon, especially older people.

glad I missed the hail...one car garage, two cars = one unhappy car...(not the subaru, she has the garage now...and we have been watching to make sure she doesnt have any more leaks).
