That is one of the problems with an apartment. No real air circulation here... One window for each room means no flow. So it can get warm in here. Glad to hear you are doing well.

if we open our windows here, we get tons of bugs--the ones that like to feast on my blood and leave itchy red splotches that stay for weeks....so as soon as the sun goes down the doors (and windows) get closed--not that our windows are near anyplace I would want to open (2 are on the northside, the other is on the east...and one bedroom is closed off completely as well as the window on the east), only the balcony doors are in good spots (though on the east as well)...nothing on the south or west sides, so no breezes here.
Not that the computers like the heat and humidity anyways....need to clean out the a/c filter and dust off the fan (with a vaccuum).
nice to hear from you again perkunas!

Our room actually cooled down last night. But it took 2 fans and an open window to do it. And it helped that it was only 50 degrees outside.
Well back to work today. 5 weeks left...

The grandkids had a cool surprize Sunday morning. Saturday evening, they "planted" some Jelly Beans in a flower pot. When they checked them Sunday morning, suckers and big lollipops had "grown" overnight. The looks on their faces was priceless. I believe, the 10 yr old was more shocked than the 3 and 5 yr olds.
Got down right chilly in here last night. Reached 45 for a low, had to close the windows for a while. They will be opened in perhaps an hour or two, headed for upper 70's.
I have been in therapy for the past couple of weeks. I took a spill on the ice about a year ago and put a serious hurt on my shoulder. Due to me not using it like I should have, I wound up with "frozen" shoulder. I had about 40% range of movement when I started, now up to about 80%.

ouch! I took a spill this last winter as well, only hurt my pride mostly (and was sore for a bit ), but having had shoulder problems in the past (rotator cuff issues--BOTH shoulders), I can appreciate your situation...good luck with that!! Never can get enough physical therapy

I don't want to but I'm afraid I must. I must know when I get out...
My mom did something similar with my nephews Perk. They thought it was awesome, though the 7 year old wanted to see it again. I think he was skeptical...
Yikes, glad you are getting your movement back. That definitely does not sound like fun at all.

I knew it would happen, but at least its less than 2 months now!
I remember when we were kids we did the easter egg hunt in our house--but with the chocolate eggs (that way if they were not all found no ...er, uhm---odor would happen), always had a few eggs found in the middle of the summer (nice bday gift for me!)... never had my parents try to push any easter bunny (or santa) tricks on us---very hard to do when you have kids spanning over 13 years...my brothers were in high school by the time I knew what was going on, older 2 were married while I was still in grade school!
but nice to see that kids can still be amazed by those things.

Just about a month left for the students, a little more for us teachers since we have to come in one day after Memorial Day so we hit our 180 contract days. >.>
Wow you and your siblings are pretty far apart. My sisters are roughly 7 years apart with my brother and me thrown in the middle.
ACT day for the juniors. And I get to proctor it. Can't wait to stare at them for 5 hours. Go team!

oooooooh sounds like fun (they still take those tests??? doesnt everyone already have all the answers now with the 'internet'?? )...and to the still take it with pencils or is it all done on computers/pads now? (and just how do you keep them from bringing their cell phones in?)
yeah, my parents had the first set of kids (my 3 brothers and sister) and then there was a big span before my next sister was born (6 years) and another 2 before me.....my dad's mom wanted a granddaughter and the first 3 kids were all boys! so when they got the girl, they kinda stopped for a while (according to my mom they had been living with her in-laws the whole time, not quite sure how you have that many kids with your inlaws in the same house!!!)....but the most eerie part of the story is my mom had a still birth before my oldest brother ---and it was a girl! If she had lived, I doubt there would have been any of the rest of us (she also miscarried that year as well--but she never told us what that one was).....so very strange twists of fate!!!

Ya it wasn't so much fun. Sat there and starred at them for quite some time. Very boring. But at least no one brought their phones except for one student. Who gave it to me so no problems there.
Weird how that stuff works out that way. Just like if my little sister had been the first or second child, she would have been the last.

yeah, I doubt that if I had been their first they would have wanted more---though come to think of it, they probably would have just to get ONE right (youngest kids are unique we are )

Depends on how much time you spend with them. Though I think with my sister you can tell pretty quick... My wife is the youngest of two so I'm not 100% sure why they stopped with her or if they just decided to play it safe.

2 is a pretty good number of kids (one to replace each of the parents), 3 is still good...when you get past 5 things get murky--as there is usually a pretty big age range between the oldest and youngest (my oldest brother was 13 when I was born) and then stranger things happen, as a child was was more intune with adults than other kids (I would happily hang out with my parent bridge group). Kids usually pair off as well, in my family you would think 6--that makes 2 2 and 2...but my oldest brother is a geek (even before they were popular) and was a loner so it went more like this: 1 2 2 1...leaving me the tag-a-long that no one wanted (especially kids who are in jr high or hs!)
family dynamics is a fun topic to get into and read about! Its been a while since I read anything about it.

4 made it so that there wasn't 1 middle child, but 2. Though I still felt like the middle child since I was 2nd oldest. Oh well. Wife and I want 2 kids which is a nice number. My brother was a loner, my sisters kinda hung out the older the younger one got, and I had my own group of friends. So we didn't exactly pair off either.

yeah it kind of depends on the personalities of the kids as well---usually the oldest are the over achievers (my brother graduated top of his hs and college as did his wife also the oldest--she is in mensa), middle kids---from what I have seen usually sit back, some are under achievers (my 2nd brother and my oldest brothers 2nd kid--neither of whom did well in school), from there is gets wanky.....my youngest brother and my oldest sister were smart (youngest brother graduated a year early from hs), my next sister loved to study and got straight A's....then there are the youngest kids, most of whom try desperately to get attention from anybody (my stuffed toys provided my crowd )...my grads were good (good genes--no need to study and still get B's or better ). Neither my last sister nor I had a big circle of friends (her because she had her nose in a book most of school), I had other reasons.
2 is a good number 3 is better, but 2 is good (you will have to check with the lady having these babies if she agrees after the 2nd one or not--I had a friend who is an only child because his mom's labor with him was horrible she refused to have another kid!)
fun stuff indeed

We both like the idea of 2, then there is no middle child who maybe feels left out. But that is just our opinion. I think we would be okay with 3 but 2 is kinda where we want to be.
On a different topic, was nice out, but temp has plummeted. It was 77 today but is not 42 out... And thundering. Sounds like we have some storms on the way.
