That is true... If your furnace or hot water heater were to break in the middle of winter that would be a huge downer for sure... Oh wait. I forgot. A few years ago I went to my gf's, in the middle of winter, during Christmas break for New Years. There furnace was broke. Talk about cooooold. Their house is drafty as is. Good times.

yep....its a good idea to have some light maintenance done on the furnace before it gets cold out (to avoid having to get a stupid permit from the idiots in your village so that you can replace said appliances

....)....

I think I had my cold's revenge yesterday....I slept most of the evening...and yeah, now I am wide awake

(hope it was just a reaction from having a second set of blood tests done a few weeks after a first bunch).

Since I'm in an apartment I am exempt from having to hire someone. Which is nice.

I just have allergies atm. Hope it stays that way... Really want to try to stay as healthy as possible this year.

yeah apartment living was nice for a few things....but I like being in a place that I can paint the walls if I so desire or put nail holes in the walls and not worry about my deposit not getting refunded (not to mention having a garage for the car)

allergies...the bane of life.

so who is enjoying this weather????? nice temps (actually not having to use the heat OR the a/c).....

It is getting a bit too warm here also. Supposed to hit 84 today... I was happy with low to mid 70's but this is getting ridiculous...

I'm allowed to put nail holes in my wall if I want. But I haven't cause it's a bachelor pad.

yeah I guess 80 is a wee bit on the warm side....but considering its october and it could be 32 and a foot of snow---I will take the 80's

I have lived in sooo many places, some say 'no problem you can put stuff up and we wont charge you' only for them to charge you when you leave. So instead I just never put stuff up (unless I found holes already in the walls)....one place charged me for cleaning the overhead light--which I had noticed when I moved IN was full of dead bugs--well, yeah 3 years later they were still there, go figure....and no, I do not own a ladder.

ah the joys of renting...never want to do it again.

you sound like my hubby---fishing...ewww! (did I tell you my parents on their honeymoon went fishing??? not my mom's idea I tell you!).
it should be a beautiful weekend for hanging out outside (for those of us who think that fishing is just an excuse to do said)......so enjoy the last bits of summer!
(they say its gonna be a cold snowy winter this year for the middle of the country---so ssdd)....

and yeah my mom said the same thing!....and we heard it bunches and bunches of times......my first 'vacations' were to northern wisconsin or northern canada so my dad and brothers could go fishing....while me and my sisters and mom...did....well, not a whole heck of a lot.....mom made up for it by our first real vacation: Hawaii!!

...cue music we're having a heatwave, a tropical heat wave...the tempature's risin'---

Well the water is nice and hot again, but but our boiler needs
about $300-400 due to an improper installation 10 years ago.
Well that hot weather you all have been talking about is due
to arrive here tomorrow. Today was a nice comfortable 65 and
if I had my way it could stay there all year round. Per previous
discussion , I am just waiting fo the next crisis. Off to Yen Ching
for buffet and a large Scorpion Bowl.

yeah enjoying the weather....after sushi it was dark and it was STILL over 70 out! peeps kept asking why we were standing in the parking lot talking....it was such nice weather, next week it could be 32 with a foot of snow, so yeah, I am going to stand outside and enjoy the nice not-october-like weather....

yeah fishing...would much rather just relax with a book instead of sitting in a boat, smelling .....fishy stuff, getting eaten by which ever bugs happen to be around...

actually could do almost ALL of that on my balcony..just put the fishing pole with a line over the edge of the balcony...we have a nice view..and heck we could fill the fridge, and a bathroom is easily accessible too (if you want the fishy smell, I think I have some in the freezer, we could let one thaw).....
guess I just dont get 'fishing'

You can blame me for the hot weather trends, been poking extra holes in the ozone and changing the climate using deep sea ocean currents. In ten more years this planet should be completely habitable by my species. So I say, keep warm and don't worry about your heating bills.

Fishing was a lot of fun. Fished all day Saturday and actually caught a fair amount of fish. More than we expected since the weather was so warm. So Saturday we fished then Sunday we fished in the morning before running to my uncle's new retirement home. It is huge... Just huge. Then my dad and uncle went to the Brewer's Cardinals game while my brother and I stayed at the house playing pool, shuffle board and watching football. Good times. Cruised around the lake this morning before heading home. Great weekend but I am glad to be home.

So my best friend and his brother cosplay, not so much my friend but his brother. They both play on GW and I was talking to them the other day and asked how many people show up to the events dressed as some character in GW?

we LIKE the weather....most of us are 'older' guru users ....we have talked about things for 6 OT threads already....(cosplay---did that about 15 years ago, when I was younger, thinner and actually went to things like conventions).

ah well all too soon that noise I just heard will be my furnace coming on (instead of the a/c).....leaves all over the streets....but I got all my outside stuff done, now just to get it packed in for the winter
