Read if your playing in the WC this April and don't yet have plans...
Hey all,
I have been guild hopping/pugging for awhile now, and the recent news of the WC in April got me thinking: "I don't have forever to prepare for this"
So, I decided instead of spending weeks/months trying to find a non-failing guild that played decently AND was not made up of idiots I would try my hand at forming one.
For those who don't know me; I have played in many top 200 and top 100 guilds such as Nyog, RoKs, and several others back in the day, more recently I have been pugging around with some random guilds such as BC, HiDE, and countless others.
Reqs
I don't care about your HA rank, plain and simple. Due to the gimmicks that go on in there I have seen people get as high as rank 6 without knowing what Vent is, and many people Zerg/Sway their ranks now anyways so its kinda pointless.
Champ points are nice for sure, I myself only have 37 points because of my guild hopping.
But really all I ask is that you have high level GvG expierence (top 200 with references to back it up), live or play evenings eastern time (GMT -5), and are willing to actually practice before going into competition. With this being the last GvG Tournament with a real-world prize list, failure is not a option so I will be very strict on practice etc.
An Ideal App you could send me here on Guru Forums would look like this:
Name: (First name or whatever you prefered being called, in my case Happy)
IGN: (In my case Xx Happy Feet Xx or Happy Goes Wild)
Age: (No req, I'm 17 for all those who want to know/don't care)
Time Zone: (EST, GMT, etc.)
Last Time You Played in a real top 100 Match:
Last Guild your were in:
Other Guilds you were in:
Position(s) Applying For:
How long have you played these Positions:
How can you contribrute to a team atmosphere:
Is Winning very important to you and are you willing to practice in order to succeed?:
Any other info:
References: (3 or more I can contact)
So if you have read the above and feel that you would like to be a part of a positive, winning team that encourages new ideas and also think that you can play on the top 100 level, please continue and read below for additional info on Guild Plans, Positions needed to be filled, and other info.
Guild Plans and Formation
Considering how I haven't thought about the name or any of that stuff yet, the actual making of the guild is awhile off, I would say 21 days at the most, but that will only happen if I get 6-8 people to respond to this who I think are worthy to play on the team.
Positions
For the team to be complete for the Tournament in April we will need 10-12 people, all being considered equal and "core", just each with a specific role within the team. (i.e. If you are the core Ranger and we play a build without a Ranger for awhile, don't worry because you can also be around as a backup in case of a no-show and we will always be switching the build according to maps, etc.)
We Need:
2 Core Frontliners (1 being expierenced in both strat and target calling at top 100 level in case I don't frontline, both need to be able to play Derv/ Sin if needed)
2 Core Mesmers (You will be playing a variety of bar's, maybe not just friggin Esurge and HeV)
1 Core Paragon
2 Core Elementalists (1 expierenced in playing blindbot and another expierenced in flagstand snare/trident/shatterstone as well as mindblast with splitting abilities)
1 Core Ranger
1 Core Versatile Midliner expierenced in all midline positions above, with the ability to switch around freely
1 Core Prot Monk
1 Core Infuse Monk
1 Core Back-up Monk, needs to have expierence at both positions, also may see time backing up other positions as needed.
1 Core Flagger (Needs to be expierenced with running both Monk and Rit Runners, as well as old school Ele runners, this position may go away as I am still considering whether I will run, frontline, or Prot Monk)
These 13 plus maybe 1 versatile back-up will be carried until Mid-March, were we will be cutting down to 10 players that will be playing in the WC in April, the others are welcome to remain in the guild but will not be playing in the March Monthly or the WC. To clarify from above, just because you are recruited as the core infuse monk does not mean you are guranteed that position come March, if the back-up monk displays a higher skill level, he will get the position, the same goes for any position.
To give prospective applicants a timeframe of events, here is a rough guide.
Now until January 31st: Application Process, will accept applications here on the Guru forums. The guild and smurf will be formed before the 31st if the recruiting is going well, and we may have some light scrimmage and practice sessions.
February 1 - 29st: Practice time, we will be practicing everything, Builds, Cooridnation, Reaction, Spikes, Dealing with Different Builds on Different Halls, Positioning and Movement, etc. During this time we will keep in gameshape by playing Ranked matches in the Smurf.
March 1 - 31st: GvG Time on Ladder and participation in AT's, somewhere around the 12th we will have tournament roster set.
April 1st - Preparation for Tourney.
**Note, I know all of us have lives, and we will be playing with this in mind, at most 5 days a week for no more than 3-4 hours a day on weekdays, weekends are different, please give us notice if you will be AFK for a bit, its no big deal**
Thanks to all who go through this great amount of information, I hope it helped you decide if this Guild is right for you.
Again, contact me here.
