Shiverpeak Cartel [Shiv] Begins!
Shiverpeak Cartel [Shiv] is what I refer to as a constantly evolving network of experienced players with high emphasis on guild advancement.
Focus: End-game pve (farming/titles/etc)
The idea is: Build a guild around a constantly changing requirement for becoming an officer to keep players interested in guild affairs.
How? First off, to become an officer, simply join the guild (Just created, no members.) Once we have 10 officers the guild focus moves to recruiting. The top 10 recruiters are given an officer position. If a member has more recruits then an officer, the member can take his spot. (recruitment is done through a forum, so any member can recruit) But in order for the member to become an officer, he must challenge and defeat an officer in a 1v1 duel.
My idea behind this is to give any member a shot at officer status. And to work the guild towards an over all goal. Officers get to lead the guild as a group, and say we all want to start ursan UW clearing, so we set the officer req to ursan rank, 10 people with the highest rank get to be the officers, again 1v1 for the spot.
Any officer can only be challenged once a week.
Another feature I was working on was guild titles, just for fun. Say, every time you are challenged in a duel, if you win you get 1 point towards the "Undefeated" title. Every time a member challenges an officer that isn't you (the member gets to choose) you get 1 point toward the "Loved" title.
A bonus to the constantly changing officer system is that the 10 officers are the most qualified for the current goal of the guild. And when a member reaches the req to become an officer, they choose the one to duel, making the least qualified (usually) the one to be switched out.
But to remove the angry side of competition, any player who ever gets officer status will from then on have a say in guild affairs. (they get officer status on forums from then on) So once you become an officer, you'll always be an "officer".
It's still in the fixings, I have a hall (the ice island) a cape (black and blue, with the hammer/axe thing on it) and an idea for a fun guild. I need 10 people who share my goal, who will help me form a guild fit for kings.
What do you say?
