The Expedition [XP] – “A different perspective on ‘guilds’…”

=====[ THE GUILD ]=====

The Expedition [XP] takes a different perspective on "guilds" than most other others in Guild Wars that claim "active", "hardcore", "experienced" requirements. [XP] is a more of a PvX social community designed for individuals who like to play Guild Wars to simply relax and enjoy the game, playing at their own pace, seeking out their personal goals, and exploring what they self-define as "fun".

Guild Wars is designed around accessibility, being able to pick up the game and play it in the style you want, whether solo or in a group. [XP] emphasizes on this accessibility, as well as the versatility of the game to cater to various player play styles, capabilities, and both casual and hardcore gaming.

[XP] also intends on taking the guild into Guild Wars 2, and will start planning their entrance in the next GW title as more information is released early next year.

=====[ THE MEMBERS ]=====

Our members range throughout the whole PvE-PvP spectrum, with some focused solely on PvE, others focused on solely PvP, and most who enjoy ALL that Guild Wars has to offer. Either way, everybody is very open to other people enjoying what they want to do in-game, whatever side of the spectrum they define as "fun."

The key characteristic of an [XP] is self-sustainability: Members are able to support themselves in the game with whatever resources are available, whether in a group or solo. Our members don't need the guild to have fun in Guild Wars; being in the guild just enhances the excitement and enjoyment of playing.

=====[ ACTIVITY & EVENTS ]=====

Our activity and playtimes vary, mostly throughout American prime timezones, but usually there are a few online throughout various hours of the day who participate in playful conversations in guild chat (talking on a "nickname" basis) while everybody focuses on whatever they are doing in-game.

Our guild activities are often member-created, where it takes one person to say "let's do something", and the guild discusses in guild chat or on the forums about what adventure they want to seek next, whether its a Challenge Mission, Elite Dungeon/Zone, or Team PvP.

Nobody is ever burdened to participate and help out, but that doesn't mean we don't love playing together as a team.

=====[ GOALS & ADVENTURE LOGS ]=====

In the spirit of the theme, The Expedition has an 'Adventure Log' system on their forums, where each member share short lists of their personal in-game goals and learn about what everybody else is currently working on.

As for goals as a guild, [XP] is currently under discussions of the following team content (including, but not limited to):

PvE: Slavers Exile, DoA, MQSC, Underworld, Challenge Missions
PvP: Heroes Ascent, casual GvG, AB, Sealed Deck (when released)

=====[ RECRUITMENT ]=====

[XP] is looking for unique GW fans who believe and will uphold the guild's mission statements for Guild Wars, and wish to join us on our exploration of the next Guild Wars title. The guild currently intends on staying a small guild (~25) to keep its tight-knit, nickname-based community, making sure each member gets the attention and voice they deserve; however, the guild will ultimately develop and improve based on its current members.

Recruitment is application-based, where applicants are asked to introduce themselves to our current members so people recognize you as an individual (and as a friend) from the minute you step foot into the community.

We welcome anybody (couples/partners, groups of friends, "lone rangers", enthusiastic leaders, team players, etc) as long as their playstyles fit with the guild's mission statement.
