Who are We: HotU is a small, close-knit Luxon guild, for “mature” players wanting to enjoy their game play. We prefer that all new members be at least 18 years of age. This is due to the fact that some of the topics mentioned in guild chat could be classified as rated R. (Alliance chat conversations venture in the realm of X-Rated at times.) Exceptions can be made, depending on the maturity level of the person in question. We are the leaders of a small close-knit alliance. Our alliance is a part of our extended family and is another place people can go for help or company on missions, HA, GvG, AB or anything else. Other then that we just ask that all of our members feel free to participate in guild and alliance chat and that if anyone needs help, please ask. While the majority of our members are from the US, we have members from various parts of the world including Canada, The UK, and Brazil.

What we Do: We have members of all levels of expertise. We have a PvE HotU guild and a PvP HotU Guild. The PvP guild is the current leader of our alliance. We encourage participation by all of our guildies in guild and alliance events. However, this is by no means a requirement and is really just a good chance for us to practice playing together. We care more about everyone having fun then we do about the end result. We do use a Vent Server whenever we do PvE Guild Missions, Quests or Guild matches. This is not a requirement, but it is encouraged, as some of us are lazy typers. Vent is a requirement for all PvP members of HotU.

What we Don’t Do: In PvE we will not tell you what class to play nor what build to run. We believe that everyone should be able to do what they feel comfortable doing. While we may offer suggestions, we will not be offended if you choose to go your own way. (NOTE: If you do go into Hard Mode dungeons in Eye of the North, HA or GvG, there may be specific builds needed based on the team). Of course with the PvP HotU, we do have specific team builds we will want to run in HA, GvG, and TA. So you may be asked to play a specific class and build. However, we will assist you as much as possible in obtaining these skills and work with you.) We will NOT censor Alliance or Guild chat. We believe in free speech and think everyone should be able to state what’s on his or her mind, as long as you are not affecting another person’s rights by being blatantly rude to them. (Please note that as leaders of the alliance we expect our members to be courteous to other allies.) We will NOT spell check every sentence you type. We have guild members from various parts of the world and we do not expect everyone to spell or speak the same.

Origins: We started this guild after experiencing dissatisfaction with the way the guild leader, of our former guild, started to run things. All of the Co-Founders of HotU were seeking a group of people that enjoyed playing with one another and didn’t want to get caught up in a lot of rules and restrictions. We believe life is too short to be caught up in drama for an online game. Games are made to be fun, not another source of stress and aggravation.

Our Vision: A guild of the people, for the people. We believe that every member should have a voice. Any suggestions or ideas by our members are considered and ultimately decided on by a collective vote of the Co-Leaders. Officership for the PvP HotU guild will be for Core PvP Members only at this time. The PvE guild of HotU will base officership on activity and willingness to recruit. All officers must also register on the forums and be active presense on the forums. We all have real lives outside of the game, so it is important that we all rely on each other to make a great guild. The Co-Founders and Long-Standing members of the guild take turns being leader so that there is not one Dictator of the whole guild.

Alliance: We are currently the Alliance leaders of a close-knit alliance. Our alliance has become an extended family for us. HotU has become a mixed alliance with PvE and PvP guilds. For PvP, we do insist all members login to Vent as it makes organizing builds and calling spikes MUCH easier.

Alliance chat can get VERY vulgar. The guilds in our alliance joined because they didn’t want to be limited on what can or cannot be said in alliance chat. ****WARNING**** If jokes or discussions regarding any of following will offend you or your guildies, we are NOT the alliance for you: racism, sex, furniture porn, incest, pedophilia, necrophilia, drugs, vegetarianism, linux, beastiality, politics, religion, and so on, and so forth.
