[UHOY] seeks Luxon PvE guilds to join alliance.
Greetings and thank you for taking the time to view our recruitment advertisement. We hope that you read through the entire ad before exiting the page, but if the thread is "TL;DR" we will understand.
What is [UHOY]?
[UHOY] stands for The Unlikely Heroes of Yesterday. The guild is primarily Player versus Environment, but some of us enjoy a good Kurzick slaying in Alliance Battles. We do not faction farm nor do we have the desire to own a town. We simply play the game for enjoyment.
The guild is an American guild with an age range of 16-46+. What does [UHOY] have to offer an alliance?
[UHOY] has a Ventrilo server that we are willing to share amongst the alliance. Many of us have defeated all the Guild Wars chapters and are thus able to assist alliance members on quests and/or missions. The hall is fully stocked. We like to talk about random things within alliance chat. We enjoy getting together in towns or for events. What is [UHOY]'s current status?
[UHOY] is fairly active with the line being held at 50 members. The most the Guild Leader will allow is 60 members because she rather likes the guild being more family like. All alliance guilds have been booted due to inactiveness. [UHOY] is on their way to being a fantastic alliance once again. What are the expectations that [UHOY] has for an alliance guild?
Guidelines for Alliance Guilds in Alliance Channel and on Ventrilo:
No spamming.
- Spamming is annoying. If you wish to annoy anyone, annoy the local chat.
No begging for gold/items/runs.
- Begging is very noobish. You can mention a couple times that you need "x", but do not whine until someone helps you. Not only is that noobish, but it is immature and looked down upon.
No explicit chat.
- Just because you're mature doesn't mean we want to hear explicit content. No one needs to know about your sex life nor do we desire to hear anything else involving such things.
Keep cursing minimal.
- Again, just because you're mature doesn't mean you have to cuss in order to prove your maturity. Cursing makes one appear doltish and we rather you appear intelligent.
No mistreating alliance members.
- No flaming, no demeaning. You can tease, you can joke...but do not cross the line. The game is meant to be fun. If you wish to bully someone, go bully a person in real life.
No scamming.
- Do not try to steal accounts, do not try to underhand a trade. It should be self explanatory.
No using Alliance Channel as a Trade Channel.
- If you notice someone mentions they need an item, you may then offer the item to them for a price. Otherwise, no saying "WTS: [insert item here]" or any phrase of the like. There is a trade channel for a reason.
No stealing members from the alliance guilds.
- This should go unwritten; however, there have been issues with this. If a member of an alliance guild wishes to jump in your roster, make sure you discuss it with their current guild leader. This way we avoid heated disputes over guild hopping. [UHOY] will not tolerate member stealing from alliance guilds. If you wish to steal members, steal them from outside the alliance.
No sharing Ventrilo information with outsiders.
- This means that the only people to be on Ventrilo are those within the alliance. Do not invite your second cousin twice removed onto Ventrilo just because it is cheaper than calling Collect.
Please keep in mind that you can do as you wish within your Guild channel or on your guild ventrilo, but when speaking in either the Alliance channel or on the [UHOY] Ventrilo you are expected to follow these guidelines.
If one member of an alliance guild is caught breaking the guidelines, they will be reported to their Guild Leader. If the alliance member continues to break the guidelines, the Guild Leader of the offending alliance guild will be asked to either kick the member or to leave the alliance. If the guild does not kick the member, the leader of [UHOY] will boot the offending guild out of the alliance within 24 hours.
If the Guild Leader of an alliance guild is caught breaking the rules, they will be warned once. If they fail to heed the warning, they will be booted. This is because if the Guild Leader does not respect the authority of the Alliance Leader, then the members of that guild will probably also disrespect the guidelines. The leader of each guild should be a role model of sorts.
We also expect the guild to be older than a month, have mature members, a roster with more than 10 members, and to be active.
Getting a hold of the Leader:
The Guild Leader's in game name is Dervish Gnome. She's usually on between 6pm-11pm Central time. If you would like to contact her outside Guru please e-mail her at [email protected]. You can also message her on the guild MySpace .
