Default Sons Of Dark Magicians [SoDM] Is hosting a 2v2 Tournament

SoDM is organizing a 2v2 scrimmage tournament with cash (game cash) prizes!

The rules:
- At the beginning of the tournament, each team must submit their Primary Professions to the judges. (example: Toots and Boots will be playing Assassin and Ranger). These professions cannot be changed for the duration of the tournament. DO NOT ANNOUNCE THEM IN THIS THREAD! they are private so you can catch your enemies off-guard.
- Teams will not be told the professions of their enemies until the match begins. This will prevent people from "counter-building"
- After each round, teams may change their secondary professions and build.

- The matches will be played in the flag area of the Isle of Meditation, with all gates closed. Gates may not be opened, and the flag may not be used.
- Before the match begins, no skills are to be used by any player, nor are they allowed to make any attacks.
- The match is only valid if a judge is present to watch. They will be in the arena overseeing the match, on a random team. All judge's rulings are final, and they have the power to award a kill to a team, or disqualify a team.
- The match will be played in three three-minute "rounds", which will end if one team is wiped, or 3 minutes pass. If the time limit is reached, the winner will be decided by the team with the least deaths. If there are equal deaths, the round is a draw.
- Any player dropping out will restart the round - if a player repeatedly drops out, the judge may award the opposing team a win.

- The number of matches will be determined by number of teams participating.
- Zero points are awarded for a loss, one point for a tie, and three points for a win. Bye rounds are awarded as wins.
- After each team has played the set number of matches, the scores will be tallied and posted, and the winners announced.
- The winning team will recieve 50% of the prize money, second place will be given 25%, third will get 12.5% (rounded up), and the rest will go to the judges as payment for their time.

- Teams must submit 2k per player in order to participate in the tourney.

To sign up for the tournament visit:
http://www.sodmonline.com/forums/ind...?showtopic=110
and register your team.

The current prize pool is over 300k and the more we get signing up the higher the prize.
The games will take place at the [SoDM] guild hall so it is important we know your IGN's to send out invites.

No date has been set as of yet. We will consider a day and time when we get more interest for the tournament.

as a final note, please no stupid and unnecessary comments such as "2v2 takes no skill" this is a fun community event.
