Cool Another DVDF Celebration event.

Hi
The DVDF alliance is coming up to its one year anniversary, so we were wondering what we could do to offer some help back to the community. That idea came to us, when for the first time in 2007 the alliance owned for a few hours, a town in factions and so we had access to cheap merchant goods including lockpicks.

So in order to benefit treasure hunters everywhere we are selling our entire stock of several thousand lockpicks at the same discounted rate as a town owner would buy them at (1200 gold, as opposed to 1500). In short we are not making any money from this, just allowing those who would not normally have access to a cheap merchant the chance to obtain lockpicks.

The way it will work is this.

On the 22nd of July in Lions Arch International one, at 21:00 GMT we will be selling these lockpicks to all who come to the steps near first watch Sergio. Buy the lockpicks from only these people.

Only members with the DVDF tag, at that precise location will have the lockpicks so don’t bug anyone else.

People will be restricted to buying a maximum of 50(saving you 15K gold), so as to ensure more people get a chance. We can’t check, so please be honest and let others have a go.

When all the stock is gone, the DVDF members will leave the steps. Please don’t ask us for any more, we won’t have any.

A small FaQ

Q: Why are you doing this?
A: There are lots of people who don’t know anyone who can get cheap lockpicks in bulk. We are giving these people the chance to save some money and maybe have some fun.

Q:Are you making any money from this?
A:Nope, we are selling at cost price so we are getting no profit from it at all.

Q: I can buy lockpicks cheaper from x,y and z
A: For sure you can, it also takes a lot of time and hassle. This is saving you possibly hours of spamming.

Q:Why not give them away?
A:Mainly because it’s costing guildies several million gold to do this, and also it could ruin the prices of those who try and sell lock picks on a more regular basis. This is a one time event. Also if you buy the full 50, we are effectively giving you 15K due to the cost savings on the lock picks.

Q: What about scammers.
A: Every transaction will be screenshotted and scammers will be reported if they try anything

Q: I think this is lame/<insert complaint> Idea.
A: That’s perfectly ok, don’t come. Good luck and have fun somewhere else.

Anyway, we hope to see you there. Be on time because these will go fast. I'll update this thread as time goes on to keep you up to date

Shan

Just a short update. We have a little over 4000 lockpicks available. We do anticipate that these will go fast, so come on time to avoid stocks running out.

Remember only DVDF Tagged members on the steps near firstwatch Sergio will have lockpicks available to buy at cost price.

Just another small update, for every batch of 50 lockpicks we sell to someone, they will get a complimentary Wammo Kit*

*While stocks last, this offer is not available in any store.

Event has drawn to a close, and about 3,800 picks were sold, meaning the community saved 1.14 million gold versus merchant prices.

DVDF would like to thank everyone who turned up, as well as all our members who donated, and Shan + my little team of helpers.

How did the date with Sergio after the handout go Rep? ^^

Great event, wish more guilds would have the patience and dedicated members to pull something like this off

Silly Sergio..
I saw him flirting with a (female) wammo, so I cast Ineptitude on him before I left
