Since minions arn't allowed anymore in general after i postet my contribution, here is what i could reach without minions: 576

/edit: Sorry, i didn't read the changes carefully enough. My spike involved a spirit which isn't allowed as well, so feel free to ignore or delete this post as well.

I used Glaive, Spirit rift, ancestors, destruction, rupture soul and augury of death.

The minion based thing above was basicly blowing up 8 shambling horrors with death nova and explosive growth by using signet of creation.

No minions, spirits, degen, only me attacking ^^



I'll keep practicing the timing though, I have a feeling I can get it higher.

Edit: For clarification, by no summoning, are you only excluding the use of minions, or all binding/nature rituals and minions?

I have some more questions:

1. Is Ancestors rage considered as buff or as direct damage skill?

2. Can I use Hexes like barbs or mark of pain on heros as damage buffs?

3. Are my heros allowed to knockdown the target with gale (no damage) so that I can get a higher chance for critical hits?

Not sure how much higher I can pump it, starting to run out of ideas for increasing the damage. Although I'm happy to be the first to break the 1k mark while staying within contest restrictions ^^

Anet has apparently inched the stupid barrel over, screwing my method over. It's says adjacent, but it's only that way for some skills.

You mean the right hand barrel? Yea, it has been that way forever, quite annoying. I'd likely have a couple hundred more damage if it was actually in adjacent range for all skills.

I still dont think you're doing it legitly. I'm waiting for the end of this to see how you did it. I got a sundering hit with mine, and I still only came out with 966.

Yea, whenever the OP gets back on, I'd want to clarify a number of skills with him, since I'm using some methods of boosting damage that while I'm sure are legal as the rules stand, some of them will likely be disallowed.

Edit: In any case, working on another method to top your 966 without using any of the ify methods, so disregard the 1024 until I get those skills clarified.

Finally got time to test this new method. It did surprisingly well.



1111 in 1 second. I decided to stop there when i saw it ^^

Well, if that's the case, then I might aswell post the method I used for my spike for anyone curious.

N/P Saccer: OAliQwnMdH8JCAAAAAAAAAAAAA

From here I put Strength of Honor and Aura of Thorns on myself, get the paragons to full adrenaline, and have the necro sac themselves. Then come the preps: Well of Ruin on the corpse; Mark of Pain and Fevered Dreams on the left adjacent; Fevered Dreams on the right adjacent; Barbs, Fevered Dreams, and Fragility on the Master of Damage. While this is going on the two paragons are getting all of their shouts set up on me.

Then comes the fun part. You pretty much go down the skillbar in order, making sure to hit stuff at the right timing. So:
Splinter --> Vital --> Spirit Rift --> Ancestor's --> Pious Fury --> Twin Moon Sweep
And BAM! Everything Triggers on Twin Moon Sweep for over 1k damage ^^

Ah! No wonder I had such trouble beating that 966 of yours

I also have a screenshot where I got over 1.5k in a single second, however that was when I was stacking Rising Bile, Putrid Bile, and Icy Veins on the 2 adjacent dummies, then blowing them up as part of the spike, thereby triggering all 3 of them. Still don't know if that would count though. However, that number was before I added in the fragility spike, so...

Yea, I was working on a Mist Form/Volley (on the heroes) type spike (/w Mark of Pain and Splinter), but it never worked for some reason.
