Hey faf - I think it's awesome that you've utilized the feedback thread to get help from these talented contestants - Geishe's info is dead on - I would break it down line for line and make sure you follow each part cuz it is all important advice not to be taken lightly ^.^
I'll give ya some tips after my holiday visitors leave that might be helpful (maybe late tonight or tomorrow afternoon CST) ...we warriors gotta help each other out

Oh no Geishe, I'm am just emulating you I so admire how you've helped contestants out with such valuable help, I think we both just love great photos and creativity and like to see others grow to be able to being a part of all this fun ^.^ but seriously, u inspired me to share what I learned cuz I found your past comments in threads to be so valueable to me as a newbie
edit: to my fellow screenshotters whom I much respect and admire, if I mislead Faf or made a mistake myself PLEEZ do put a shot up that corrects me I'd hate to misdirect anyone and certainly don't think I'm the final answer or perfect example of the best way for him to accomplish his shots...just offering some tips so please join in all and help me out

Uh oh...am I being a bad wammo Stalker? >.> lemme know if I need to combine this alltogther (I'm still a forum noob )
And honestly this is for a TMW contestant Roguish so I'd be glad to move all this to TMW's thread, combine it into one post...it was that his request was here so I thought I was supposed to reply here :S
Ya I know I got a overzealous with the response but I promised faf I would help, got tied up with responding in the amount of time I said I would, and didn't want him to feel blown off so tried to make up for it heh heh...

Nice comments Stalker and Kit. rofl
Okay guys, now that the assignment 2 submissions are up, contestants can now post their outtakes in here! And here is my attempt at assignment #2 (I picture it taking place in Guild Wars 2 time, based on what the PC Gamer Guild Wars edition said about Elona):
Starli looked around at the remnants of her home. Nothing was left. Her fists clenched and fire filled her eyes as tears rained down her face. Tears of anger and loss.
Alone since she was only 13 years old, the clothes on her back made from her own hands, Starli remembered that horrific day that changed her life.
She was only 13 years old. The Kournans were attempting to take control of Elona. They slaughtered hundreds, burned homes, destroyed everything in their path for domination. Few survived that terrible day. Starli’s family was taken from her when she was so young and innocent. She’d been learning the art of the Ranger, to hunt and survive on her own. When she’d returned, she found her home ablaze and nothing but the corpses of her parents and three siblings remaining. Frightened for her life, she fled.
The terrible scene she’d witnessed as she returned home from hunting played over and over in her mind like a cricket playing its lullaby. Nothing left of her home but flames and ashes, the dead bodies of her family helpless inside.
Starli had to survive on her own. She hunted for food, made her own weapons and clothes, and hoped that one day she would join her family in the Underworld. But until then, she vowed to avenge her family.
Now, she is hell-bent on revenge. Though their numbers are great, the Kournans must pay. That is the thought that runs through Starli’s mind every day and every night. She lurks in the shadows, behind the trees, waiting for the right moment to strike.
And here are some outtakes:

Kit, your generosity is astounding! There are a lot of tips there that all of us can learn from
Tender, I like your take on this assignment. I love the way you've used the fiery backdrop as a graphical allusion to rage. Gives me the shivers!
(Note to self: don't aggro Starli when she's in a bad mood)
Anyhow: here are some of my outtakes... I think a couple of them could be seen as too large for a direct post and I don't want to end up on the wrong side of the ban stick, so I'll be linking to them this week.
"Hey, a penny!"
Gold among the goldenrods
"You show up uninvited, your infernal packmule ATE my begonias, and NOW you insist on flash photography?!"
Turn that thing off!
"$#&£! I left my keys at the tavern! AGAIN!"
Next time, pay attention to the barkeep when he says you've had enough
"Wanna come in for a coffee? I spent all day grinding for the beans."
How could anyone refuse that face?

Hey all!
I took some other screenshots since all the very useful comments, and I tried to apply every little tips everyone gave to make better screenshots.
I will show you what I got so far.
These are the four screenshots I prefered in all those I took, still for the Guild Hall assigment. I think we are getting somewhere, but there are still two or three things I don't like about the screenshots. I am just unable to find out these mistakes in the screenshots. I would be glad if someone could help me (again hehe) and identify things I need to work on.
Thanks again in advance, love you all for the very nice comments!
-Faf
PS: unfortunatly, whenever I take a screenshot with anti-alias 4x or 2x, the screenshot in my screens folder is just ALL black. I tried to fix things but nothing is changing, its always black. Thus, I still take my screens with no anti-alias. Someone have an idea why this is happening and how to fix it?
PPS: Also, forgive me for my poor grammar and all the mistakes I do, I'm a frenchy hehe .

something you and everyone else might want to try for better quality screens is to go to your guild wars icon on your desktop, right click properties at the end of the target line type -bmp and apply so your shots aren't saved as jpeg
as for your AA, I don't have a clue. and for your cropping leave just a little bit more background in there, maybe not a lot more but as it is now its just your character and nothing else
