Tender, i think your contestants might appreciate if you don't call out one over the others, makes you look bad as a host. You need to keep those comments to yourself. Posts where deleted to spare those that didn't read it.

I think all of us took risks with this assignment. Even Tender took a risk by giving us this assignment - this is the first music assignment ever, so there are a lot of unknowns here. Nothing to refer back to to see how past contestants would have done it, what the judges will be expecting, or how the viewers will respond to the shots we make.

Sorry for the delay! School takes a lot out of my schedule and one of my judges has come down with the bug.

But don't worry, we're still here! Okay, here are the submissions for assignment #3, in no particular order.

Ao Kanashimi (Kelly Clarkson)

Judge 1: I must agree with you that your shot matches that part of the music video, but what really bugs me is the cropping. I can kinda understand what you did it, but if you were perhaps further up the steps it might have made a more pleasing-less stretchy feeling to the shot (might just be me). Other then that though the Kurzick guild hall proved to be a good background matching that in the video.
Judge 2: I definitely see the similarity between your shot and the part in the music video that you mentioned. The cropping is quite awkward though, as there is so much for the eye to take in. I think that this shot would have been amazing if you had positioned yourself more towards the top of the stairs so you could crop the image closer to you and still have the same effect.
Judge 3: First off, thanks for telling us the exact location of the video the shot was based off of. That helped so I knew exactly what to look for. Now for the photo. I do see the connection between Ao and Kelly in the video and I like how I can see you clearly. However, I wonder if you could have taken a shot up closer to the top of the stairs so you could cut out more of the background, as cropping seems to be an issue. I know it's dark in there but you did a good job with the lighting. So other than some cropping issues, you did a great job and I can see the connection.

Nymphalis Antiopa (Jennifer Lopez)

Judge 1: Your ranger does seem a bit like J-lo, with acceptable enough armor as well as a nice J-lo looking dance pose. I think it might have been better though if you moved the angle to also show your hand on your thigh too. The background is glamorous for J-lo, but you could have cropped it closer in my opinion, and the red floor is a bit distracting. Perhaps it might have been better if you stood on the steps instead, with the shiny (scarab?, I think its one anyway) right behind you.
Judge 2: I think you definitely captured the essence of J-Lo in your photo, but there are a few things that really could have helped improve the shot. Zooming in closer would have helped a lot, as well as a closer crop so that there isn’t so much around to steal the attention away from you. The background choice is really suiting though, if more care was taken to ensure the distractions were eliminated, I’d like this photo more.
Judge 3: Very creative how you made your own video/song as Jennifer Lopez. However, the first thing I notice in the photo is that bright thing behind you in the background. It's creative and I do see Jennifer and her style here, but I wonder if a closer zoom would have helped the shot. It just seems you could have done better, because I know what you can do and this just doesn't seem to be it. And of course there was no "source" photo, but since that was an option and not a requirement it won't affect my score. I don't know too much about J.Lo, but from what I've seen, I do see some similarities.

Judge 1: Good theme to center Pink around from that song! You were right about pink and her certainly "out there" looks, and I think your necro managed to pull off that look! To be honest though, I'm a bit disappointed by your shot. It dosen't really look planned out very much, your choice of location is a bit questionable (I would have thought perhaps a more 'ruggid' area, or at a party type scene as in the video). As for matching with the lyrics, although it does slightly with the paragon's emote, I'm a bit lost as to what your necro is doing in relation to it. While you certainly look like pink, its a bit hard to see the portrayal you choose.
Judge 2: I think that you showed Pink pretty well in this photo. The outfit is great and I could totally see Pink wearing it. Although I do see what part of the video you were trying to portray, I think that another tower should have been used, perhaps one with lighting that isn’t so bright like in the video you mentioned. Also, you neglected to mention who your friend was posing with you which unfortunately cost you some points.
Judge 3: Nice shot! The lyrics help explain it, since, even though I'm a Pink fan, I haven't heard this one. Anyway, I totally see the "in your face" attitude, with Rosary telling the guy in the back that it's over and he's begging her to come back but she's saying no. The combo works great, and it's pink to match.

The background works okay for me (though I had to watch the video to really see the connection, and it was a little hard to find but it's there) and you are still the main focus of the shot, even though it looks like you have horns coming out of your head from that statue.

The only thing is that you forgot to include your male paragon's name, and that's stated in the rules.

Other than that, good job!

Judge 1: Great music video to choose, ember has the perfect hair and outfit for it! I don't really see the 'essence' of Shirley Manson in the shot, but I can see the scene that it matches in the video. For this you won't get points off though, since you didn't know who she was. I think you could have chosen a better scene from the music video perhaps, but the shot itself is very nicely composed! You, the 'double' are clearly the main star in this shot, with the 'original' in the background, still see-able but not drawing attention away from you.
Judge 2: I can clearly see what part of the video you were trying to portray, and you did a great job at it. You are the first thing I see in the photo, and your former self on the floor behind you is very nice. You did a great job, but you have to be careful to make sure you tell us who the other characters in the photo are… as your score was definitely affected by this mistake.
Judge 3: Very good shot! I totally see the video here, being a huge James Bond fan. Love the video and love your shot! The red hair, the red outfit, a dead double behind you with you looking back at her? It's a perfect remake of the video to me! The only problem is that you forgot to give us the name of your double. And because that's in the rules, that'll cost you some points. But other than that, outstanding job with this assignment! For not knowing Garbage, you pulled it off great!

Render Me Useless (Britney Spears)

Judge 1: Hehe, good job on the pose of you and your backup dancers. It really matches your inspired picture, and you (and your outfit, except for maybe the tattoos...) really do make a good Britney Spears. The lighting in your shot is wonderful I think, but the background is a bit bland...maybe if you chose to be on some sort of stairs or a 'stage' looking area, I still would have given you the points for that. Its a shame about the aura though, kinda makes you guys look less matching in a way.
Judge 2: You know, I bet if I didn’t know who your music artist was.. I could guess from looking at your picture alone! I do think, however, that your backup dancers should be further away from you. Not only would that have made sure that you were the main focus, but it would have made sure that the divine aura did not distract. I actually really like your background choice, even though it is not sunny like in the pic you provided, it still is divided in a similar way. Still, great job!
Judge 3: Awesome shot! I totally see Britney Spears here! I like how you're right out in front with your dancers behind you, and the similar outfits is just like the picture! And of course your outfit is slightly different to make you stand out even more. The aura on the monk to the right is a tad bit distracting but not too bad. I'm glad you went with a background that wasn't busy and somewhat plain to make you stand out. Great job overall!

Scarlet Renoux (Lindsay Lohan)

Judge 1: Lol, great article to go along with the shot. I like how the idea was a big more comical instead of exactly just 'glamor'

. But, what matters mostly is the shot. The black dress is perfect, but I think it would have been alot easier to go with a picture that matches Scarlet's hair color (since Lindsay originally was a red-head). I can kinda understand your background choice as glamorish, but honestly I think all that red and gold is a distraction. If you chose a more plain wall background, I think that would have fit the original picture better.
Judge 2: Very funny photo explanation. I very much enjoyed the line “it was like she was too ugly for the outfit, and it was trying to escape…” I laughed a good deal at that. The pose and dress you used in the photo is dead on, but I must say I’m a bit surprised that you took your inspiration from a photo of Lohan with black hair. Although it does not affect the score I gave at all, the main reason we chose her for you was because of your red hair! I think you did a good job, but the background is a bit busy.
Judge 3: roflmao! Well that's one way to portray Lindsay!

Definately seems to be up to date. Shame shame! lol Granted Lindsay has black hair in the photo and the background isn't Japanese, but it's still her.

Very funny and different way to do this assignment. I do see the connection, what with the pose and the black dresses.

Gracie Grumple (Fergie)

Judge 1: Fergie for your warrior must have been an interesting challenge for you to try. I'm not sure exactly how the background ties in with the essence of fergie, but that sun seems to take up most of the picture. Although the hench were a bit funny, I can see the enchant effects around orion, and why those hench? Your armor of course is acceptable enough, since I believe you when you say its difficult to find fergalicious warrior armor! Your dance pose as well, could be acceptable except we can only see underneath your chin, and not much of your face.
Judge 2: Very cute write-up, it explains your photo rather well. Although I think this photo is quite cute, I think your backup dancers should have been just a little bit further away from you, and that you should not have been right in front of the sun as it is definitely blinding. I think the pose is really cute, but that if you had caught the part of it with her head down more (so her face would be more pointed at the camera) the effect would have been better.
Judge 3: I do see Fergie here, with the dancing and revealing clothes. However, the first thing I see is the distracting sun and I don't see Gracie's face very well, plus the eyes are closed (though that can't be helped). Good shot overall, but after last week's I guess I was expecting more from you.

Judge 1: Dave Navarro was a perfect match for you, I'm pleased to say. You deffinetly pulled off the tight pants look as well as Navarro's strange shirtless look. Your inspirational video matched very well with your choice of background, great job converting what you saw into GW locations! The guitar emote of course works just fine, your a spitting image of a GW made Navarro!
Judge 2: Dave Navarro himself would be proud to see this representation of his music video. I honestly do not have anything negative to say about your assignment. Fantastic work this week!
Judge 3: This is awesome! Great place to take the pic, I completely see the connection here. The purple/celestial sky, the fire/ruins below...outstanding! And the /guitar emote was added creativity, as it looks just like the video. I'm glad you focused on Dave himself instead of his band(s). I'll be honest I didn't know who he was (wasn't my idea lol), but I can see why that other judge picked him! You're the perfect double. Great job!

Ooh, I love everyone's shots! Just in case anyone was wondering, here was my written portion, or explanaition to the photo:

"While on a business trip for her record label in Japan, the infamous Lindsay Lohan was spotted outside of the We Hiya Idi Ots Tower Records building. A paparrazzi spotted Lohan, but was in for a HUGE surprise for the photo. Or should we say, a "revealing" surprise. "I went up to Lindsay to take her picture, and when she turned a round, her dress slipped away from the side of her...it was like she was too ugly for the outfit, and it was trying to escape, but the plan failed miserably," said Su Lin, the photographer. "Luckily I cought the photo, and made some really good money off of it." Lohan Fans were extremely torn from this situation, almost speechless. "I always loved her movies when she was a little girl," says Stephanie Smith, a mother of three. "We never expected her to go to these drastic measures." Immediately after the shot was taken, Lohan pulled her dress back to position. For the reader's sake, the photo has been blurred."
