MantleCon 1079 AE

Time has passed, and so has it been a while. Now we bring back the MantleCon. Temporarily called the Mursaat Rally for the past two years to bring out the support for our Unseen Lords, the time has come to bring out the MantleCon once more, but this time, Tyrian-Wide!

Join the White Mantle celebrate its annual MantleCon. Drinks and food provided, of course. There will be events, there will be parties, and there will be fun!

At the end of the event, Konig Des Todes will collect donations of 20 Drunkard, Party Animal, or Sweet Tooth points worth of items for Staff of the Unseen Ones. *Donations go to funding future events by the Archivist’s Sanctum and Blade Radio’s events*

In the case of District 1 filling up, Kazera Wolfsbane, Sir Jack, and ______ will be in District 2 for Gambling, Trivia, and as a Collector.

Purpose:

The MantleCon event has existed since Saul D’Alessio founded the White Mantle. At first it was to raise morale, but when our beloved Saul D’Alessio passed from this world, it became an event not just of celebration, but of mourning. Time passed, and MantleCon once more became an event of joy and celebration. When our Unseen Lords were in trouble, we opened the event to the public and named it the Mursaat Rally to show our support to the Unseen Ones and our wish to help them recover.

MantleCon of the past

But now that time has passed, just as the time of mourning of Saul has. And now it has been decided to return the name back to MantleCon, but keep it open for all to join!

During this event, instead of just showing our support for our Unseen Lords, we shall show off our wish to know about their ancient enemy, the Seers. This we wish for to know their weakness, their homeland, and their strengths. Know thy enemy so that they can fall harder when they face the wrath of the White Mantle!

And, last but far from least, TO HAVE FUN!

The current leader of the new lore-based guild, The Archivist’s Sanctum [Lore], current moderator of the GWO Lore Forum, and head organizer of the last Mursaat Rally, Gmr Leon will return for a speech on the Unseen Ones and their ancient enemy, the Seers!

History of MantleCon

Justiciar Karuro Silvershot will tell a story about MantleCon’s past. What will he say? What has happened? Find out at MantleCon 1079 AE!

Costume Contests

Can’t have the MantleCon without the traditional Costume Contests, now can we? This year the two will be separated for ease of the judgers. Those not participating will be able to continue enjoying the Gambling Tables that will be open.

Konig Says.

While “Mad King Says” is the most dangerous game in all of Tyria, the game of “Konig Says” is the less generous game in all of Tyria, but is just as fun. There will be specific rules announced at MantleCon. But do not worry; all participating will get their just rewards if they follow the rules.

Invasion of a Golem!

Word has reached our ears and warned us of an impending attack by a Golem! It is up to you to defeat the Golem when it appears. Do what is needed to defeat the Golem and be rewarded for your efforts. May the Unseen Ones protect you.

Redux at the end!

In order to get those of all time areas, at 6:00 PM GMT-6 (10:00 AM GMT+10), we will hold a shorter redux. It will include a second speech by Gmr Leon, another costume contest – Jade Armor themed - and another chance at Gambling, Trivia, and Collectors.

Side Activities:

Gambling

An event is not an event without gambling so we are sure to have four thirty minute sessions of gambling held by Free Runner [D1], and Kazera Wolfsbane [D2] during the event. Times for the Gambling Tables is mentioned in the above Schedule.

Collectors

While the Gambling Tables are gambling away, two collectors will be around. Collectors Justiciar Jair [D1] and a member from [TEN] [D2] will be collecting various trophies from our enemies for Ales, Sweets, and Party Items. So be sure to bring your Decayed Orr Emblems for Ales, Maguuma Manes for Sweets, and Molten Claws for Party Items. The item you turn in will decide what you get as a reward. Need three of said item per minute or point. They will only be collecting for thirty minutes each time. Specific times are stated in the above Schedule.

Trivia

Sir Jack will be hosting Trivia quizzes in ID2 for prizes. These trivia questions will be based around the Mursaat, White Mantle, Kryta, Seers, Bloodstones, Asura, and general Guild Wars Lore. Times of the quizzes are stated in the above Schedule.

Up to Three Districts!

If it comes to it, we have prepared enough ales, sweets, party items, and staff to host four districts. While the main festivities will only be in ID1 and ID2, if you cannot get into either, you can still have fun!

Additional Goodies:

Staff of the Unseen Ones given out!

To all the loyal Unseen Ones fans, a special Staff of the Unseen Ones will be given out to all those who donate 20 points (Drunkard, Party Animal, Sweet Tooth) worth of items to Konig Des Todes. This means: Ales (1/5 points each), Tonics (2 points each), Fireworks (1/3 points each), and sweets (1/2/3 points each). Only 50 staves will be supplied. Each person cannot get more then one staff.

Texmod for Maguuma Stade

There is a texmod being made for the festivities to make the Maguuma Stade more Mantle-like. It will be put up once finished and received, so stay tuned for it!

Yes, since the last two it was to confirm if we'd get the Mursaat in GW2.
And since we now know that they'll be there, the Rally returns to the White Mantle Convention in remembrance of Saul D'Alessio, unity and overall fun (And super-secret tactical meetings). In short, Mantlecon

Just a question, why the change of name? Isnt that slightly disrespectful to the creator of the event Quintus Antonius? And why the post so early?

The previous two Mursaat Rallies were to get the Mursaat in EotN (07 Rally) and GW2 (08 Rally). Since they appeared in EotN and its been confirmed they will appear in GW2 there is no need for a Mursaat Rally 3. So the event has been continued in a way but with a different name and story - MantleCon.

Sorry, i thought it was just a slight copy of the MesCon. Jjust wondering how he can get away with making slight copies of diferent event names but I cant.

It's quite common for conventions to have "Con" in it.
In my country alone we got Chibicon, Tsunacon, Animecon etc. Don't let me get started on others.
There's no copyright or anything on it, so it shouldn't give trouble. As it's normal for events such as this one.

Not sure what your talking about but MantleCon is not a copy of MesCon. As Karuro stated Con = Convention and its simply following that idea rather than saying "White Mantle Convention 1079 AE".

Also it was taken out of Karuro's GW comic, and I never even heard of MesCon until just now >_> Let alone when I proposed using Karuro's name for it in the comic.
