Do you wish to have the Ascalon Royal Family Masquerade Ball Return?
Hi
The Ascalon Royal Family Masquerade Ball was one of the first large scale community driven events. It has, for the past two years had serious backing from the Guildwarsguru community. As an example last year through hard cash donations alone we managed to raise 1 million to fund the event.
I was wondering what you, the player base of Guildwarsguru thought about having it come back this year or not. Do you want to see it return?
Me and Rahja the Thief have hosted it separately for the last two years and both times it achieved 5 districts with an overall success.
Rahja is busy this year, and i have "retired" from the event creating business. If there is interest in the return of the event i will get to work gathering enough funds and staff to make it a viable event for within the next month.
So what are your thoughts?
Please let me know before May the 1st !

Well, I've never really been involved in any community events, so I must ask - what, exactly, occurs at said Masquerade Ball? It certainly sounds entertaining.

No real preference, but I say, why not?
No harm, no foul. That's how I see it.

There is definatly interest had 120k plus a ton of consumable items donated already. Remember all donators are put on the "donators list" when and if the time comes.
Its looking good.

I'd definitely like to see it return. The Ball is pretty special to a lot of people, I think, because it really laid the foundation for all the other great player events we've seen since. Nothing can top the original.

Well that looks like a lot of fun! I would certainly be interested in coming if it doesn't conflict with studying for AP tests.

Basically, it's a celebration for the community and Guild Wars and not any one thing in particular. It has big prizes and big events, and it takes up almost an entire day.
The event takes place in Serenity Temple. There are costume contests, races, dancing, booze, fireworks (at least the first Year when Gaile was an attendee), scavenger hunts, and also a Texmod texture modification for the entire town. It usually took up at least 3 full districts and 2-3 pretty darn full districts. You can get more information from these wiki articles;

This event was the first one that I ever attended that was player made and I absolutely loved it. Taking it away now would be a huge mistake, in my opinion, and I really hope that somebody can host it this year.

Looking through the links to the previous events...this looked like it must have been a ton of fun. I would definitely attend if it were to happen this year, though looking at the dates of the previous ones, I've a feeling it'll fall on the one weekend in May I'm away :P
But it looks like it must have been awesome.
