Ascalon Arena PARTY!!!!
Do you know what Ascalon Arena is? Ascalon Arena is the arena in Ascalon city for random arena from lvl 1 to lvl 10. In this place where people just starting the game and people who have been playing forever clash, enjoyment is bound to erupt.
For the longest time, there was a core group of about 50 of so people who play AA "professionally" in which the main thing they did on guildwars was Ascalon Arena. But because some people stop playing the game and because of several other issues, Ascalon Arena has died. Now going there you will see one or two people afking there. Or a noob running around screaming, "WHY WONT I ENTER! I WANT TO PLAY!!!"
But this coming Saturday (July 17th, 2010) from 3:00pm-9:00pm EST, we will have a guildwars party to resurrect Ascalon Arena once more. If you are interested in having this hidden gem of funzies, then come to this website http://ascalonarena.com/ and register to become part of out Ascalon Arena community! If you register, you can easily recieve updates about events and tournaments that we will hold for Ascalon Arena.
What are you waiting for? Go resgister! <3

I'll definitely try to make this event. Ascalon Arena is awesome.

I quit playing GW for two reasons, GW getting rid of Monthly betting on Zaishen tourney, and nerfing of skills in the AA, you were only allowed a few skills to use in the arena, have they changed this or do they rotate skills to be used in the AA, my guild held tourneys in AA with the prize being the Keys won from the monthly Zaishen tourney.

"Elite skills are not allowed in the low-level version of this arena."
That's hardly a problem, imo.

I am very tempted to return to this... I have often hoped it would make a comeback, but I am just not sure if I can get back into it. I would seriously love to, but on the other side I am not sure I can find the passion for it anymore...

Well right now we have over 50 members on the website already. I believe it is currently 54 members as I type this and if still growing. I think with this many people, it is definitely a lot more fun.
There are two main reason why AA was annoying. One is that there are not enough people to battle so the wait is long. Well with this website gathering over 50 people, the amount of people going to ascalon arena is not a problem anymore ( or at least we hope it wont be in a week or so)
Another reason is because there were a lot of asshole ragers who made the game annoying. I regulate the forums and make sure that everyone on the site is nice to each other and I have so far deleted four accounts of people who were balantly mean even after I warned them to stop being mean. So my aa community will be free of this raging. At least as much as I can possibly regulate. So far though, everyone has been really nice to everyone else. There are also a core group of runners who are really helpful and have been offering to run ssp and la to aa runs for free. One post asking for a run and someone offers to run in like an hours or two later. I am really happy how close knit the AA community I am building is.
And if you used to AA, then you definitely understand how addicting it can get. So who knows, you might just find the passion when you go there. You'll never know until you go back and try it. If its not for you then by all means you can stop coming ^^. The first official AA event as I mention earlier is this saturday 7/17 at 3pm EST so if you can make it, it would be great. If you need to make a character and need runs, then feel free to register on the website and post on the forum asking for a run. Someone will be more than happy to run you when they get the chance. ^^
OH yea for anyone wondering why people would follow my rules, I have made it so that if anyone want to sign up for the tournaments that I will be holding, they need to be on the website. And if you don't follow the simple rules that I set, then you will be kicked from website and exempt from tournaments.

Just a question, could you theoretically level up from 10 to 11 by doing ascalon arena?

Yeah, you can. Though if you lose you can't go back in.

Just wondering, but how is deleting haters and trolls from your forums removing them from the "community"? They're still more than capable of screwing with you guys in the actual arena battles, seeing as they're open to everyone, not just members of your "AA Community". I would think deleting them from your forums would just give them more of a reason to mess with you there.
*Edit*
Missed the bit about "as much as I can regulate it". Still, they're going to mess with you in the outpost, and in matches. Not really much you can do about it tbh. Plus, they can just make new accounts, unless you're capable of banning IP's or ranges of IP's from your site.
