Well if this initiative is still going (and i doubt it is...) I sign up. Never really noticed the issue of lack of Aussie players, though now I realise i've only seen a few apart from RL friends in game...

Totally agree that its well overdue for Anet to provide Aus servers. I've sent support requests, posted on the official gw wiki, yet still nothing happens.
Since l changed ISP to Internode l do now regularly get pings of 160-200, though there's still spikes of 500+ at times and its hardly reliable. Yet l know for a fact that US players also get spikes also so its not just us Aussies.
As for AUS, it's still kicking along and there's a few of us who are regularly now doing PvP. We want to organise a core Ha team and revitalise GVG practice in the guild. The main guild will however, still remain Pve orientated.
If any Aussies are interested, contact Si Mana in game.

There's still some GvG activity around OCAU, Tool, KENTOSAURUS [ReX], Uncommon Valour [tG], and some other guilds. We all guest around a lot. Overall it's a friendlier environment than 1-2 years ago, but it's a shame the volume isn't there.

Except ReX has to rely on guests from all of the above guilds or run smitegay because we have like 3 active members =(

www.anzgw.com is now a quack medicine site.
Is there some other unified Australian GW forum?

I think tG might be the only one of those that James has not put my second account in to member guest.
Supposedly my furniture and computers get here 29 Dec 08 after a 91 day delay getting here in Guam from Bahrain. I cannot PvP with 7-15 fps on this laptop. I should be up for some playing after the new year.
The environment is only friendly because I have not been playing for a year.

AUS (United Australian Warriors) still has a 3 Aus guild alliance, with over 80 members in gh1 alone of which l am officer.
So no problem with Aussies online there. However, finding 8 players to form a core HA group proves not so easy.

Good to see a few Aussie guilds still around in GW keep it up guys.
Still wonder when /if we will ever get a dedicated server over here in Oz.

Not sure what you've heard about AUS. There's been a change in Guild leaders, supposedly temporary.
Aside from that, Aus is still kicking along fine as usual though there's been a directive that no organised Pvp will be developed.
As l'm mainly pvp based now, l've a storage acc. in Aus still but my main account is now out and lm searching for a decent pvp guild for daily gvg/ha/team arenas. Currently g3/r3.

LOL a directive. Sounds very official.
There are still some guilds around that do some PvP, a good place to start is OCAU - pvp people there know people in other aussie PvP-only guilds.

Australian PvP is Dead. End of Story.
Just wait till Guild wars 2, if not, learn to stay up late.

I doubt Australia will ever be active in any area of online gaming due to bad internet + poor timezone. Honestly just play SC2 with the Koreans.

You know if more aus guilds gvged at the same time, wouldnt the waiting times be shorter?
And also...can anyone point me to an aussie gvg guild that might still be recruiting?

with the release of GW2 maybe aus pvping can get the kick it needs and possibly hold it if something like this initiative is held from the start with ppl widely recognising and signing up. im super keen for elite GvG play with a big band of Australian/nz guilds. I know this thread is faily dead but could be the time to start organising for GW2 even if it is still 10 months + away
