Aussie Aussie Aussie!
Yea we deffinitely need our own District, American players are just too think-headed and too proud to help and it's not like we have euro players because most dont speak English.
This is a glorious idea.

aussie players
I have recently joined an aussie guild and I live in the frigid artic of Minnesota (Central North America).
I am on CST for N. America but since I work graveyard shift I play during times that most americans are not on and european times don't jive either.
an aussie guild could recruit more for american players if you mention if they play late night then that is prime time for an aussie guild.
I find most of my guild/alliance on when I play and it is working out great.
good luck w/ recruitment.

No, Australia and New Zealand don't need their own district, just a server so we can actually interrupt 1 second casts.

Hi Misha. Message me up sometime. I'd like to play with you again.

Mend is mostly dead, yes and everyone I knew mostly from mend died with it.

I think I remember you? Many of the people from Mend still play, just not in guild form anymore. You should message me up too.
All the things said in this thread about Australian hours are true though...its very hard to find games. It was hard 2 years ago and its still hard today. Recently we had a group together and there were ZERO other guilds playing, so we had to HA. Australian times are really bad for Guild Wars. Not to mention every Aussie I know has terrible ping due to the GW/Vent servers tending to be nowhere near Australia.

I concur... there's nothing worse than having 500ms+ lag over others purely because of our location...

Would love for the ping to much lower.. Under 200 would be good you know. Would love for that green circle outside of the outposts
Is this still a happening thing? I'm GMT+10 and love pvp.

On a serious note, not enough Australians play GW for it to have its own district.

haha its so true, if you try talking in aussie slang to an american they have no idea what your going on about.

Sigh. I rlly hate playing with aussies, theyr so slow on their infuses that it comes AFTER the spike, I mean wtf? Aren’t infuses supposed to come before?? :P
Sarcasm aside, I’d love an aussie server so I can play with fellow aussies without worrying about some American team ripping us apart with interrupts, and superior infuses, and so that I can play ranger without worrying about the fact that some European/American can do an equivalently good job with half the effort.
In the mean time put me on the guest list. I still refuse to play infuse/ranger, although my Pd’s still competitive if ya want it , otherwise i mostly play prot, and sometimes midline, and don't expect me to call tactics if i run frontline =P.

we really need a new recruiting place for aussies, its hard trying to recruit players in the same timezone that will actually stay (join-ZOMG nubs-quit).

You speak English and your in Asia. How does this give you your own district? Your basing districts on culture and the only reason we really have different districts in the first place is the language barrier.

Thizzle, if you read the thread you would know that:
1) while a district would be nice - our colloquial language is significantly different from that of the US and UK, however most of us think we don't need it, and
2) what we really want is our own server so maybe, just maybe we can be conpetitive. No Aussie I know gets a ping under 200 - EVER. We can't play interrupt in pvp and we can't play infuse, so it kind of limits our options.
Remember that in "north america" 3 languages are spoken. English, Spanish, and French, yet on the NA server there is only one language district.
The districts while mainly based on language are actually completely arbitrary.
Unfortunately for us we will never get out own server. So we will just have to deal with pings of 400+ during peak times.

Celebrate for us Aussies!!! They finally gave us the respect that is due and created for us our own districts. Here is me getting ready to go through the ring of fire with my buddy there on the radar.
