Oh and then people quit the game.
A recipe for success if ever i saw one.

i'd have to agree with Press C, there is far too much drama and guild changing among the aussie pvp scene and its holding us back.
Need to keep the troops together and running the same build/position long enough to actually get comfortable in it and get some wins.
Im not pointing any fingers but there are a select bunch of players who love conflict and drama and their names always seem to come up when i hear about guilds disbanding and from people venting their grievences.

Weeknights for GvG in Australia, around 10am GMT you mainly get to play local Australian guilds, the wait can be long especially now as the Uni exams are chewing up a lots of players time studying hard for the next few weeks.
It gets a bit better at about 11:30am GMT when a few Asian guilds start to get on, then an hour or so later a few European guilds start trickling through. By that time you have to go to sleep. I hardly ever see any American guilds. They do crop up in AT's though at strange hours, but the forfeit rate in AT's is a bit of a joke so you end up playing the same couple of guilds over and over. The timing of the AT's is woeful for Australia, Monday and Tuesday nights are it. If the rounds were 6 hours apart instead of 8, that would make a huge difference.

It's a community for Australian & NZ players. Essentially what anzgw.com used to be, but hopefully I can maintain 6 alive forums rather than 20 dead ones.

Interesting development on all this.
http://www.augw.net has gathered a fair bit of attention from Australian players, most notably the United Aussie Warriors [AUS] that received Guild of the week status.
This thread here is an epic meeting between [AUS] and other members of the Australian guild wars community.

pointless thread.... Aus pvp wont get any better and never will.
Timezones are too much of a problem for Australian people.
You also do realize we only have 20 million people. Compare it with Europe, America and Asia and you will see what i mean.
Also having Australian district is pointless, not enough people and id rather play in an american district where you can have more people.

Post full of fail, Aussie are PvPing in some of the best guild in GW, sadly few PvP with Aussie only guilds because of the problems that aussies face, lackluster players.
Timezones aren't really a problem, your looking at it from the wrong perpective, think about what it is that Aussies can do to change all that? Answer a hell of a lot.

I'll give aussie PvP the whisper, if you're no good after 30 months, you'll still be no good after another 30.

Our problem with PvE is like our problem with PvP, its not the lack of players interested but rather there all joining a game that is international.
Why play with your countrymen when you can be part of a guild/alliance of Amerkans, Canadians, Euros and even South africans.
And Aussie PvE or PvP aren't out there promoting themselves, I mean our own fan forums died.

The old forum was better in its hayday, but there atleast trying.
If you check Guild Registry section you will see my point.
All those guild, most people would never have heard of, and I'm sure less then 1/3 are healthy guilds. Why its too ea to create a guild, and its far to easy to join a guild that already huge.
Most people are only concerned with the numbers of people in your guild and the activity you do.
Australian players don't want to play with other Australians.

Sorry the post is a fact, how many Aussie guilds out there can compare to the better known American and Euro guilds in terms of success and achievement. I dont think you can name a single one. The point is that Aussie's dont want to gvg with Aussies because there are hardly any Aussie guilds and playing with them wont get you anywhere. Sorry this is probably a bit direct and you or others may find it offensive but its a fact. The only way i can see this improving is maybe if theres a decent Australian guild that can be a role model for others out there and promote. Otherwise not.
Regarding time zone: Sorry if your a person who can spend his morning and afternoon playing gw. Many others have work and myself have school. By the time many come home from work and school, a gvg would take hours to form and then run for 1 or 2 games before disbanding. As for the weekends the timezone may be better for Aussies but im sure some wouldnt want to give up there weekend to play guild wars. There is no way to improve the timezone which is another fact.
To answer your last question, "think about what we can do?"
i think after almost 3 years since this game is out im pretty sure people have already thought of every single possible solution to mend this problem.

Hey where you in Mend by any chance? Dreamwind? I used to be in Mend, fun times! Don't think any of us play anymore, I might get back in for GW2.

I created www.augw.net
Nothing interesting will come of it until GW2. I have stopped playing GW. When GW2 does come out, I will do everything possible to see our community start off on the right foot.

This is a fantastic initiative! . I also strongly agree Australia/New Zealand need's its OWN DISTRICT !..........
I seems like a "oversight" of localization to not have such a District.
If ArenaNet were REALLY sharp, they would issue LOCALISED STICKERS on the Guild War game box's MAKING IT CLEAR! to the public, that
there is district available for the gamers Country of origin.
