Okay..so how does this sound. We create a Red Carpet event.....like an Awards of some sort for Guild Wars. Where we create fake awards... (TBA and discussed) and have people actually "Dress up" and walk the "Red Carpet"

Then continue on to the Awards Ceremony.....lol. It was kinda a joke bounced around some of us...but some possible names could be...Ascalon Academy Awards ( AAA) or....The Ascension Awards...something to that effect...

Go! Tell me what you think hahahaha

I agree with this.

I was really surprised to see this thead title and just popped in to say I don't want to say good bye to GW1 just yet :P I still have way too much stuff to do in GW1, and the OCD side of me would rather play GW2 only after I'm done with all I can do in GW1. Then again, I've only been casually playing for little more than a year, so GW1 still feels fresh and novel for me

The Ascalon Academy Awards (AAA) haha!

Cool idea, and a guy who takes screenshots and video recording (the photographer.)
With a host ofc, plus different people to announce the nominees and winners

But it is to give a warm welcome to GW2 right?
Cause then we should also figure out if its gonna be held in gw2 or in gw.

But theres alot of possibilities in a theme like the "Red Carpet Event" or "The Ascalon Academy Award Event" i can already see the introduction videos of the nominees hehe.

I like it.

Btw are we gonna have Norn bouncers too?

Norn Bouncers...are totally a possibly. I think this event should be entirely wide planned by the community...if not made into a pre-guild wars 2 event (Say..like.....2 weeks before the game comes out? or maybe even before the Open Beta?..if there is one...) by Arenanet themselves. hahaha

We were thinking about the Awards being for the Heroes, NPCs and other weird happenings in Guild Wars 1..so we can all walk down memory lane

For Example :

The Aggrobot Award :

"Zomg! Its a Tie....Prince Rurik and Master Togo" *wild Applauses*

We actually were passing around ideas lastnight during Salmon Avenger's show and random people from the community decided to just add in...so I thought..why not post here and see what people think

I think it depends on how players experience GW2. Things will be different. Players have their own expectations. Some will get hooked very fast, others will be disappointed and may wanna go back to GW1.

Yeah i was thinking about NPC'S too.

something like the best villain, or even best battle

and we should definetly have a video of the nominees as a teaser for the actual event.

and how about some competitions for the players joining the event? im thinking about a "look a like" contest.~where you try and look the same as your favorite npc~, and the best joke of an NPC or something hehe.

and also after we gave an award, we could have trivia of the NPC that won, and make like a tribute with give aways of various items the NPC is equipped with or if its a boss that won, then it should be what unique weapon they drop

and what about a forum contest, where the best screenshots of your character and the nominees (NPC'S), is the winner. (Best Fan Award) or (Most Annyoing Paparazzi Award) LOL

and the point system could be for each screenshot of the different nominees (NPC'S).

Man the possibillities

And im still serious about the norn bouncers

I have little experience with video stuff...so we would need 2 or 3 people keen on video making to help put together video intros for that idea ..I would think..could be really fun!

I too have Sony Vegas and could work on videos. I'm currently working on a project to record every GW cinematic with only 1 PC (no h/h) in the cinematics for nice cleanness (hard for later cinematics and near impossible to get the same PC in all NF ones sadly). But I don't know too fancy stuff.
