Official Place-to-Place Running Time Records [Leaderboard]
Introduction
Welcome to the Official Record Running Times thread! This thread is very similar to how SC record times are showcased except this applies to P2P (Place-to-Place) running explicitly.
Here is where the record times for popular runs such as Beacon’s Perch – Droknar’s Forge, Droknar’s Forge – Marhan’s Grotto, and Ascalon City – Lion’s Arch will be showcased. Times are proven not by “/age” but by video recording. These times come down to the seconds and sometimes hundredths of a second, so accurate video footage is necessary to show the final time.
Almost every runnable area in the game will have a record associated with it. There will hardly be a shortage of records to shoot for! There is a first, second, and third place for each run, so those who don’t perform the best can still have their names noticed!!!
The goal of this project is to make competitive P2P running more mainstream. It is much more fun than speedclears or dungeon runs and when executed properly, is extremely entertaining for the runner and viewers alike.
Rules
1. No use of consumables. Alcohol however is allowed to help prevent knockdown in conjunction with skills such as “Dwarven Stability”.
2. You may not interact with anyone that is in your party (shadow stepping off of them, etc). This applies to using Heroes as targets to shadow step off of. People in your party must not interact with the environment in any way (i.e killing a boss to recharge your shadow steps). You may however utilize other party players for their spawn-changing quests.
3. Recordings of the runs must be done so the entire screen is visible, and not just a portion. These videos must be posted on Youtube when finished and will be checked for illegal editing techniques such as speeding up video playback. The recordings must be at 100% playback speed…speeding the video up or slowing it down at points for dramatic effect will NOT be acceptable. The recording must also be one continuous shot, which means no skipping around portions or using fading techniques during the run. The final time will be the time when the loading screen for the next zone appears, so keep recording until you zone.
4. For tours, you MUST stop at all the outposts in the tour. For the "Eye of the North" tour for example, you must stop at Eye of the North, Gunnar's Hold, Olafstead, Umbral Grotto, Vlox's Falls, Gadd's Encampment, Tarnished Haven, Rata Sum, Sifhalla, Longeye's Ledge, and Doomlore Shrine. You MUST follow the order as listed in the leaderboard below. For example on the Vabbi Tour, you first start in Sunspear Sanctuary then go to Command Post. You run from Command Post to Turai's Procession. From Turai's Procession you run to Gate of Desolation then you zone into The Sulfurous Wastes and make your way to Remains of Sahlahja without a wurm..etc..etc. If there is confusion about any of this, send a pm to me.
5. Use of Texmod modifications is NOT allowed.
Video Submission
To submit a recorded time, simply make a reply with your in game name, the link to the Youtube video of the run, and the name of the run. I will determine your time and if it is a top 3 record, your name will go on the leaderboard for that run.
For tours, you don't have to run the entire tour. You can run one of the zones and send me the video. If the time is approved, you go on the leaderboard.
Same thing goes for all the other runs. If you are only good at a certain section, run that section only and send me the video.
Timing
Your time is determined by how much time you actually spend running. Downtime in outposts is not counted toward your total time. Only actual running in explorable areas is counted.
Tours
You MUST stop at all the stops in the tour. Missing outposts will result in your video submission getting rejected...unless you are submitting a time for a SINGLE zone only.
For example on the Vabbi Tour, you first start in Sunspear Sanctuary then go to Command Post. You run from Command Post to Turai's Procession. From Turai's Procession you run to Gate of Desolation then you zone into The Sulfurous Wastes and make your way to Remains of Sahlahja without a wurm..etc..etc. If there is confusion about any of this, send a pm to me.
Routes
You MUST follow the routes in the leaderboard. If it says to start in Boreal Station, run through Ice Cliff Chasms, and end at Eye of the North, you record that portion of the run then do the next one. Do them in order and try to find the fastest path possible through each zone.

EoTn tour rarely includes all outposts you listed, yet we don't stop at yak's grendich/missions on way to LA?
Desert tour includes augury only lol wut?
Factions: Not too much to run here, best I can think is Kurzick/Luxon areas.
Cavalon-Gyala, seafare to unwaking.
Durheim-Asburg-Whatever those outposts are.

Not that I care, or will compete, but rule #2: is it allowed to use random NPCs, for example Canthan Guards to shadowstep off?
Also, is it allowed to take heroes on your runs? Like paragons for IMS buffs?
Is team running allowed? Cause you only mentioned shadowsteps?
Sorry to be such a whiner, but rules must be clear^^

IMS buff by paragon hero, if you run with that, you can't do a record you would be too slow.

I thought the rules were clear?
2. You may not interact with anyone that is in your party
Meaning, no IMS buff there. Shadow stepping off anything that are in the zone naturally, is obviously allowed, ie NPC's.

EoTN tour is every outpost that is "runnable" in EoTN. This includes (if starting from Boreal Station)...- Eye of the North

Ascalon - LA is NOT a tour. It is a direct-run. There is no need to stop at outposts.
I am not finished with the tours section. I just included Amnoon-Augury as a placeholder "popular run" until I get every other tour situated.
Factions is a mess for running...no real purpose.
Texmod can be used to hide consumable icons to make it seem like you are legit but are actually using things like Red Rock Candies. I am very experienced with Texmod and understand all of its capabilities.

You can shadow step off of ANY npc. You cannot shadow step off other players or heroes.
This is not a dual-running thing...you are the only one supplying the skills needed to make yourself run faster. Therefore, using "Fall Back!", etc, etc from a hero is not allowed.
