The Year of the Dragon is here!

Hosting a District
Groups (usually a Guild or Alliance) who host districts are responsible for completing the Imperials Chefs mini-game during the finale. It is expected that each group intends to complete each chef, and has sufficient resources to do so. If you would like us to add your group to our district listing, you must meet the following requirements:

Be able to host for the entire duration of the finale
Plan to have a minimum of two sous-chefs (runners) per feast
Have all ingredients ready 24 hours prior to the start of the finale
Not require anything of your districts attendees (accepting donations is fine)

Groups who request to be added to the district list who do not fulfill these expectations during the finale may be ineligible to be added to similar lists on Guru in the future. If your group is able and willing, you are permitted to be listed for more than one district, with a maximum of 10 hosted.

To be added to the District List, please post the following information in this format BY February 4rth, 2012 11:59PM EST:

Region/Language (ie American, International, Europe German, Asia Korean)
Desired District (must not have already been claimed)

If your group is sponsoring additional events (such as giveaways, contests, etc) you must in addition to posting the above info, PM me (make thread title CNY [Group Name]) by the January 23rd deadline with a link to a forum thread/screenshot/other proof that your group has the extras planned. If sending the information in a screenshot or other format where there is no summary, you must include one in your PM. [b]Do not PM me unless your plans are finalized, or require only minor modifications. PMing with incomplete or confusing information may result in your group losing the privilege to be included in this list.

Please note that some in-game groups not affiliated with this list may claim a district you have claimed here. It is up to you to deal with any district disputes with other guilds in-game.

Just a little info here since the Chinese new year is on the 23rd of January which is on a Monday. They always seem to do Canthan New Year to whichever is the closest weekend and runs until Monday, hence its likely it will be on the weekend of the 19/20th-23rd.

Hey guys!

I just wanted to let you know that Gw-en.com hasn't had any meetings about this yet..but we hosted 11 districts in the Asian Districts last year. Japanese and Chinese

So regardless of the district 1-3 blackouts..we would like to reserve the 1st 3 districts of Traditional Chinese and Japanese districts

We will be giving away extra goodies in the districts and what not. We will be posting on the Community Section of Guru....may I suggest that this thread be moved there? That is where it was posted last year

If you're previously had success in those districts, I'll add you to the list for them. The only reason for the blackout is to play it safe.

We decided to have the thread in Riverside this year since threads in Community Works generally do not get many views. If you are interested in doing more giveaways, please edit your post with the details and I will link to it next to your districts.

My guild/alliance will again run a district for the upcoming Canthan New Year, all and everyone is welcome to join us.

Caveat is that if district 11 fills out we shall run another district further down the numbers as well as dis 11, but as usual will make sure it's free from hosting first.

We are prepared to share a glorious feast with the Celestial Dragon for all its appearances in our district this year. We are also prepared to share a bounty with those that join us with prizes and entertainment planned throughout the entire 24 hour finale.

Each appearance of the Celestial Dragon heralds a change in theme for us. Each round we will base our events on well known dragons. Our events will start after the Celestial Dragon has left after each feast and conclude approximately 30 minutes before the next feast begins. As well as the major events listed there will be mini-games and trivia throughout the day and night.

We will be hosting a meeting on January 8th at 1pm Central on my ventrilo in regards to Canthan New Year for gw-en.com. We run our districts a little differently than most... Here is an idea of what we did last year...we plan on carrying that tradition forward!

The Everlasting Sacred Path Alliance will host Asia - Korean - 3

If by some chance that zone fills up we will spill over in the the next highest, un-hosted district.

This will be our 6th consecutive year of playing host for CNY

This is just a confirmation post that GW-EN will be hosting the 6 districts as mentioned above. We will be finalizing our prizes and details about our specific districts the weekend of January 15th

Crossing Tyria.com, Guildwars2live.com, the NICE alliance, Arkin and his alliance, the Ankh Alliance and Several GW-EN.com staff will be making up the majority of people who will be hosting the districts. We will be posting more details..as I said above at a later date

We are most pumped to be doing this again! This is most definitely the Gw-en.com crew's fave event ingame

(Besides Pink Day and the Toga Party....of course..hehe)
