Ok folks, following from last months great show, this month we are covering the Presear community and those that just refuse to leave the idyllic setting of the past

Hopefully we will also be having some of the guys from Preasering.com and our very own DJ Acidrain who has multiple Presear characters talking about why people stay there and discussing recent additions like Nicholas and Yakkington

Changelog 13/07/2009

As most of you are probably aware, the server went down for maintenance last night. There were many reasons for this mostly to bring our different services up to date with current release versions to ensure that our security was up to snuff. I will go into that more at a later date but for now here is a brief change log of what i was able to accomplish last night and what still needs to be done

1) Server OS was changed (and upgraded) from Fedora Core 6 to Open Suse 11.
2) Our Plesk control panel was upgraded from version 8 to version 9.2.1
3) Shoutcast event logging and security was update.
4) PHP and MYSQL (as well as numerous other web services) were all brought up to date.
5) ftp access was updated and security was enhanced.
6) MySQL databases were restored from archives & along with the forums where updated.
(Note that the forum upgrades have had some minor TEMPORARY knock on implications).
7) New forum skin was implemented.
8) IRC was brought up to newest version, reconfigured and compiled to run on the server from source code (was tricky figuring this out on a linux distro i am not as familiar with as others).
9) WolfPackSamurai domain was also brought up to date with additional security and version fixes. As well as being brought online again.

STILL TO DO!

1) fix a small issue caused by additional password security in latest PHPBB causing main web site to refuse log ins after someone has logged into the updated forum.
2) Install new style sheet and skin from new Sanitarium.FM forum to website to bring website into back into line with the forum design and upto date.
3) create new logo for new forum skin.
4) re implement Anope Services for IRC and reconfigure IRC to put back name / channel listings.
5) upgrade and re instate WolfPackSamurai forum to working order while bringing it from RC7 to release 3.05
6) Get IRC back up and running...
7)Reset user Avatars and signatures on the forum or ask them to update again

all in all not a bad nights work for a single person

the web site and stream were down for just a few hours, while the forum and irc took longer to implement. However most services resumed around 4 AM EST (9 AM GMT). (that's about 7 hours in front of my computer) please bear with us while these upgrades are completed as once they are finished they should hold us in good stead for a long time to come.

The Ascension Show Rescheduled!

Apologies to all those trying to tune in to tonight's Ascension Show

The Sanitarium.FM had a domain name issue which we believe is a gremlin from the weekends updates happen and are trying to fix the issue right now, so we will reschedule the show for Saturday 18th July (in two days basically) at 9pm GMT (4pm EST) and we'll be live from Presear Ascalon ID1

Apologies again for the troubles and thanks to all those that tried to tune in and join us on IRC!

Hey folks, a VERY special show lined up for you all this month!

As most now know, for the good of the community, The Sanitarium.FM has teamed up with The Guild-Hall.Net as its official partner for the Ascension show and all things Guild Wars (although we all love Guru aswell)

Well, as some may ALSO know, TGH announced a week ago that they would be doing a complete refresh of the website, forums, etc with a new skin and other funky new features, including a new IRC channel (irc.sanitarium.fm:6667 #guildhall.net)

Community News – July 29, 2009

The good people over at The Guild Hall will unveil a massive renovation to their site on July 30. The TGH main page and forum will get a full makeover and will be shinier than ever. Plus, they're adding tons of new content ranging from full length articles to mini-columns. TGH will host an in-game celebration at The Great Temple of Balthazar, ID1 on July 30th from 9:00 PM to 3:00 AM GMT, 4:00 - 10:00 PM EST. They'll be running party events and giving away tons of prizes. Stop by The Guild Hall for more details!
Speaking of The Guild Hall, The Sanitarium.FM's Ascension Show will host the TGH staff for a special show discussing all things Guild Wars and TGH. Tune in to the Ascension Show on July 30!

Ok Guys and Gals, after a long hiatus we are finally back and getting things back in gear and I will hopefully have the Ascension Show up and going again soon to cover all the latest news about GW2 and whats going on in GW at the moment too

COMPETITION TIME!!!

We have a bit of a competition going at the moment for a new look for the radio station...

I have a few prizes of Steam games and Game Time for various MMO's available as prizes (and flexible on those so anyone can have a go), but we are looking for a completely new design for the radio station website and forum and a new spangly logo...

As some know on here, we are a Gamer radio station and that means you guys are our userbase and this is your chance to make the radio station look better than it used to and stamp your mark on it, and also come away with some games and game time at the same time

The current website just isn't working for us and rebuilding with a new fresh look is the current plan that you can get involved with!
