Arrow Rise of the Primeval Kings

Hello, my friend, stay awhile and listen...

For a very long time we have waited. Forever we shall hope. Some have even prayed.
Yet our favorite game still lies in dust, forgotten by its Creators, waiting for the final doom of server shutdown.

We remained calm when the Heroes Ascent, got cut-down to 6 man, at the time of its greatest glory.
We cried but stayed strong when they taken out TA.
We dont even wanna get started about HB...or VoD...
We endured months after months of terror botting, unchallenged by Anet.
We sat peacefully when the promised Guild Wars Beyond was gone before even coming.
We wiped and quietly hated the henchway syncers, while they dishonored the name of Halls of Heroes.
We waited for salvation, but then came World of Guild Wars (often also called Guild Wars 2).

Now we are down on our knees,
shaken and shivered,
but not yet ready to yield!

Instead, We are getting ready to raise the hundred blades and charge. There is no fallback, apply the preparations to defy pain.
Brace yourself and fight to the limit!

Thus begins

RISE OF THE PRIMEVAL KINGS

From the community, for the community, this fan event, apart from having fun, is aimed at showing that Guild Wars still lives in the hearts of its fans.

The event begins on Friday, 23rd November, and lasts until Monday, 26th. All times will be posted in UTC/GMT time standard.

Join us in Heroes Ascent International Districts, for a friendly PvP competition*, relentless raging, and a chance to win some nice rewards. Apart from the playing the game, you will also be able to engage in accompanying happenings, like the live Guild Wars Trivia Quiz, Miss Guild Wars Competition (ladies still gotta approve), and more.

Anyone showing up at given date(s) will be eligible for individual rewards. Teams/guilds competing for the Hall of Heroes Holders rewards will need to register for participation on our Facebook page.

Anyone who shows support and likes our page on FB before the event starts, will auto-enter a sort of a lottery for a special surprise prize.

Those who think this is a waste of time and effort, because Guild Wars is dead and gone, are welcome to go back to GvG in Guild Wars 2 (WoGW).

Those that believe this is a good cause, and think they can contribute in any way, or just got feedback that we always want to hear, are welcome to contact us at [email protected]

Oh yeah, we also got this cool trailer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2fK2U7LDT8

Sharing this post anywhere and everywhere (gw related ofc) is more than welcome. Same applies for fb likes, as likes make even more likes and bring even more people. We are getting a good response in numbers., but not much feedback, so any comments, including critics will only improve our event and effort.

Quick info (tl;dr; version):

-Unofficial fan weekend event
-23rd-25th November 2012.
-PvP Oriented; based in Heroes Ascent IDs
-everyone welcomed, with player support for newcomers from PvE
-over9000 ectos in rewards (jk more like ~900)
-prizes for both teams and individuals
-fun, fun, fun!
-dont forget to like us on FB http://www.facebook.com/guildwarsforever thanks

*friendly MMO competition cannot be guaranteed by any possible means, but we will try fighting off trolls and hatemongers in an appropriate manner, and we also hope that Anet might hear our plea and show us some GM support during those 72 hours of the event

Nope.
And we do not honestly expect any, nor will be mad for not getting it.
We realise how busy they must be with GW2.
Still, we hope...

REWARDS & RULES & EULA

*** Just starting to read this you have accepted everything written below. ***

As the weekend approaches, its time to unveil the competition details, and bring out some info on the rewards and prizes.

48h Hall Of Heroes Endurance Marathon

This is the main competition of the event.

-Eligible are all players who win at least some Halls matches (more details on that below)

*Best time zone setting and event official times are being worked out and announced ASAP*

AND NOW THE PART UR ALL WAITING FOR

PRIZES

For most Hall of Heroes wins during the 48 hours of the Rise

Team rewards:

1st - The team with most Halls wins gets - 8x50 ectos + 8x50 zaishen keys

2nd - The second most victorious team - 8x30 ectos + 8x30 zkeys

3rd - Third place yields the consolation prize - 8x10 ectos + 8x10 zkeys

Individual reward:

For the player with most halls wins - 300 zaishen keys

JUDGING EXPLAINED WITH A BIT OF MATH:

Best case scenario:

(48 hours of the event) x ( 5 Halls Matches/hour) = 240 matches = 240 screenshots of HoH observe = lots of manual work

Best case scenario is each match with 3 teams, total of 24 players per match, so:

( 24 players ) x ( 240 matches ) = 5760 red bars to analyze = would be manual work that make us quit all the effort, but lucky we got software for that

Once we got all that data its all simple so we wont bother you with stuff you already know, or can work out if you want to.

All this should tell you that we will, as hard as it might have sounded before all this math made it easy to comprehend, actually work out everything just fine And you will get your rewards.
GM Lemoncobra himself vouches.

AWARDS CEREMONY IS HELD ON MONDAY 26th NOVEMBER

But wait there's more!

Apart from the hardcore PvP effort and nerves that will be needed to win any of the above,
we also got the PvE special feature:

Live Guild Wars Trivia Quiz

Held on Sunday

Our moderators will drop funny yet super serious questions concerning all the Relevant Guild Wars Trivia, and the fastest keyboard users get valuable prizes if they answer first!

LIVE QUIZ REWARDS include:

-Gold
-Materials
-Zaishen Keys
-Various Strongboxes
-Everlasting Tonics
-Rare, old school, or just cool weapon sets
-Undedicated Minipets
-Anything we can get a hold of until Sunday when the quiz is held

Now if you really care you should also know:

We are still raising rewards fund, what we put here is the stuff we have in storage right now, expect rewards to rise, and feel free to donate.

Detailed propositions of the event will be announced tomorrow here and on our official website - http://riseoftheprimevalkings.eu.pn/

If more than one player has equal number of Halls wins, they will share 300 keys. Saying cause ppl ask this a lot...

This event is managed by The Rise Team, currently assembled of one man and one king cobra. Expect delays, or tell us if you think you could be of assistance and dont fear snakes.

In nomine Guild Wars

LET THE RISE BEGIN!

Well, it turned out that there is no turnout! We are now getting ready for the 2nd rise!

But how was it? That's up to your point of view I guess Dont wanna put an opinion on you.

We can, however, give some statistics:

4 days - firday to monday, everyone saw at least 3 HoH wins in their chat windows

~500 ectos ~200 keys given out as rewards, about twice was meant to be given, but kind players weaved their stuff away, back to reward fund for the second rise

73 - highest number of players we managed to count online at the same time in id1

4 HoH wins, 11 total wins - was our 1st prize winning teams best streak

9 teams that won a singe HoH match

2nd Rise coming - 28-29-30 december 2012 stay tuned
