Default Identity Crisis?

Old Mack from Pre-Searing Ascalon has returned in Beacon's Perch with his pet devourer! Those of us with mesmers or mesmer secondary classes who have done almost every single pre-searing quest should remember this man from doing Althea's training. You killed the mad bull in the water, but guess what! It was Mack's bull! Now he wants you to get him a devourer egg to raise as a new pet to protect him and his farmlands from the ravaging creatures that range the countryside. To do so, you give him 5 skale fins. A simple 2-minute solo run for about 50 feet as you spam conjure phantasm into the Skale hordes. You give him his devourer egg, and he's happy; but apparently not-so-much now that he's joined Rurik's Vanguard! He stands watch with his pet, who happens to run out of food, and can't abandon his post to get some; but somebody has either stolen Old Mack's identity, or he decided it would be cooler, but his name magically changes to "Old Mac"! I'm not really sure if anybody else cares, but I enjoyed typing this for some odd reason, and just wanted to point that out to you, because it's the little things in the games that make them the most fun As in you can even see Little Thom wearing his cloak later on in the game. How cool is that?

Never noticed, but that cloak thing is actually really interesting, I need to look out for it now.

But who cares about his name, all my time spent around him is spend admiring Joe's greatness. I wish Joe could be an NPC later in the game

Is Lina the Protector from pre-sear supposed to be the same as the Lina henchmen?

Unless Lina the Healer from pre-searing underwent what Michael Jackson did to become Lina [Protector Henchman]...no.

Also Orion Elek, who you have to find in Wizards Vale to tell him someone's flirting with his missus in pre, gets his priorities straight and becomes a henchman in post searing.

Wow. I didn't think any of you would really even read this! Cool. I think that they didn't make him a beastmaster henchmen because then there would be two people for one henchmen. Although, Mac could be the henchmen and Joe could be in the pets bar and he could still do beastmastery.

Beastmaster henchman sounds like it could have been a nice idea. Certainly it couldn't be more stupid than Thom. I did wonder why Reyna/Aidan never had pets (though Aidan's wolf snow does make a cameo apprearance). I did notice everything so far mentioned when PvE'ing for the first time, except for the sneaky name change. Once you get to Kryta there's not really anything else like this, just a train from coop mission to coop mission.

I may be wrong in this but isn't the guy in the red cloak deserter quest named Little Thom? When you find him he is dead.

Read the comments on the quest more carefully, it is not actually Thom.

How about when you meet Joe and Mac/k out of Piken for that quest? Has he changed his name yet at that point?

I'm thinking he owed the King some taxes and was operating under an assumed identity. Unfortunately he's not very creative.

Little Thom: DNA tests were never conducted and no next of kin was available to ID the body. All we had to go on was that he had the insignia of Duke Barradin's Vanguard.

Still to this day I wonder who that poor soul that found himself alone apon King's Watch really was.

Id like to know what happened to some of the trainers from pre-searing....Did they all get annihilated by the Charr?

My personal favor NPC is Farah Cappo, simply cause i love her hair and she has such an awesome name. ^^;;

Ultimate Deathmatch: Joe vs. Carlotta

Winner claims rights to supreme bestial NPC, and earns the right to appear in later areas of the game!
