YES!
Also, lets remember that Morgoth (Melkor) was also chained and imprisoned behind the door of night. Why? for his crimes against the Valar, Eldar and the Edain. It is also said the he will return and his war will bring about the End of Days.
Sound familiar? Abaddon was probably into some nasty stuff and will be hugely pissed when he is released. War is Coming.
Praise Abaddon!

In the nightfall pre release bonus pack there were other several pictures of a god like being, many people claim to be Abbadon. There are others, I believe, and I doubt we can confirm it yet.

Abbie is not Dhummie, Dhummie is not Abbie.
Dhummie was destroyed by Grenth and Grenth wasn't a god.
Abbie is a banished god, banished by five gods. Dhummie is floating around, dead.
Now, to your destructive part. Yes, it's a possiblity that could fit with Abbie, but I'm sure it doesn't help he was sent to the Plane of Torment.

Obviously, im still not sure why the margonites would try to ascend if they serve abaddon... bu as far as the desert, they proly vaporised the sea away to make it the desert, but i doubt the storywriter for Nf missed the detials, so we will get it filled in when the times comes.

The outcast god IS Abbadon. That is made very clear in the Nightfall Preview Event. Spearmarshal Kormir SAYS the outcast god is abaddon.

In theory then doesn't abadon mean another portal to the underworld and in theory it means that he is the god of the uw correct me if i am wrong but i thought that was grenth? Would be cool if he and this "chaotic god" had some interactions in nightfall.
Sorry :P eddited it

Praise the Evil one........what, that's me, nevermind.
The picture of the building guy looks "Final boss worth". I like the sound of this new guy, I hope he's more evil than Lich and shiro put together.

Just so people don't start extrapolating too much, don't forget that Tolkien's work has inspired a lot of things, i'm sure if you looked deep enough you could find Silmarilion/LotR reference in star wars(Vador/Gaurthor, Voldemort/Nazgul anyone?). Even if GW has been inspired by Tolkien, it doesn't mean that it is a perfect copy or that it will follow the same storyline.

well maybe they believed that if they had ascended they could best the mursaat and open the door of komalie for the flameseeker prophecies to come to pass and mark the coming of abaddon and the new age of chaos.

Fact:
Hmm... in the lore of the Preorder pdf on the cd it says that the followers of the (nameless) 6th god battled the followers of the other gods. This devastated the battlegrounds and created the area now know as The Crystalline Desert.
Speculation from this point:
For easy lets say the gods name is Abbadon, though names dont really matter. If you look at the armor of the Enchanted Armors in the Crystal Desert, they resemble the Mursaat armor pieces. Probably the Forgotten animated these armors from the fallen, during the war with the 6th god. Thus implying that the Mursaat were in this war as well, since their armors have been found. Probably this is the war where they defeated the Seer's race. The only problem is, on which side do they both stand? And maybe there aren't two sides, but three.
How does Glint and Kuunavang fit into this? You can't say that the Seer's are a friendly race, since their ally, Glint is a mysterious personality with a seemingly own agenda. Kuunavang was 'corrupted' (willingly if you ask me), by a low life like Shiro, so other highpowered creatures (dragons, gods, demigods) could be corrupted as well.
There was also the speculation that the Seers were the same as the Margonites, which means their adversaries were the Mursaat, maybe defending and fighting for the five gods. That or they were just a 3rd party in the battle of the gods. But keep in mind, they did want to stop you from opening the Door of Komalie, which might be a door to Abbadon, a defeated enemy of theirs.
GLINT = EVIL

Could Abaddon (Dhuum) be manifest of all five gods? He is wielding a sythe reminiscent of a Dervish who can also become an avatar of a certain god. Perhaps Abaddon had the power of all the gods and thus this is why he was so destructive - perhaps the powers of all the gods combined makes chaos and this is why they are in seperate forms. If you want to go a bit further and have fun with speculation, perhaps Abaddon is the father of the five gods and thus encompasses all their powers, however, they didn't like this and overthrew him - sort of like Zeus overthrowing Chronus. Arenanet should really make a movie for Guild Wars They are doing it with Halo, why not Guild Wars?
|
As I didn't play the preview weekend much, I don't know if this is already known...but I heard that bosses can change professions during battle? In which case this sounds kinda viable-ish.
