In the Left Behind book Apollyon there were these demon creatures who spoke but the only thing they said was Abaddon. Now that I think about it they were sorta like demon Pokemon.

I dont know if it was just me, but when i first found out the sixth God's name, i was like that is just lame. The name isnt original i think they should have named him/her something better.

Now the other 5 Gods arent even there on the GW world, they left ages ago, and imo thers nothing stopping Abaddon from seizing the world and hence the apocolypse. We know that Abaddon's already been summoned and is coming forth, so how mere mortal heroes will go up against a God i dont know. It would be good if the other 5 God's actually came back. It would be good if we actually saw them as characters.

Finally, the EU pre-release pack had lore on the strategyguide that came on the disc. It has written in it:

"...Civilised nations recognise and revere the Five True Gods. But heretics speak of a sixth God...a fallen god. A thousand years ago, the spiritual ancestors of these heretics, the Margonites, fought an epic battle on the northernplains of Elona. The resulting carnage created a vast wasteland-the realm now known as the Crystal Desert.

Empowered by the blessings of their dark deity, the Margonites waged war against the followers of the Five Gods-smashing temples, desecrating shrines, and butchering ribals. Yet, despite the awesome power granted by horrific transformations, their army was annihilated: their false god exiled to a realm of torment." (taken from page six of the startegy guide)

Then on page 7 it shows a much much detailed picture of Abaddon as a statue/shrine. THen further on it shows a Head shot. So im not sure how many people saw this, but some people in this thread sound like they've only seen the picture of Abaddon posted previously on this thread (him holding the scythe). (I dont know how to upload the picture to post it)

Well, like I like to believe, for the fifth game (I know, two away), we will be more with a deitic level. We're already in the process of it.

At least now, so far, we've learned that the Margonites where hertics and basically evil and against all the other gods but Abby.

Plus, that would also lead up to believe that Five Great Gods of the Lands are basically Neutral beings.

Do any of you know who Jeff Grub is? Ok great, you dont.

Jeff Grub back in the late days and a snippet of time on, was close coworking friend with Ed Greenwood, creator of the Forgotten Realms when TSR owened the name of those books before Wizards of the Coast purchased it about six or seven years back (Sickening).

Jeff Grub has created alot of things we still know and love in the Realms, and I could be wrong, but his wife is equally good.

Now, with him, all of these stories do have aconnection, weather they will end at Chapter 3 or not it isn't for us to say, but, everyone will understand why Factions was the way it was, why Prophecies was the way it was, and how well of a climax we're all about to get.

Turn your condescension down a couple notches and learn the correct spelling of Jeff Grubb's name.

My condescension? Well, it wasn't directed at anyone, but most people aren't going to reconize his name in this game when people speak of Jeff Grub.

Some might argue that destruction is part of the natural cycle of existence.

Maybe the 6th god is required for balance of the 5.

Well, doesn't the manual say all history of this god has been erased or something like that? Wouldn't it be WAY more logic if the new god is a totally new god, instead of Dhuum or Menzies or Abbadon?

Now, it's quiet possible that Abbadon is decidely a new god if he takes the body of a mortal.

But, the essence of which is Abbadon (and that of which is Grenth, Dwayna, etc.) still is Abbadon.

Abaddon has already been confirmed as the god's name from quests during the pve preview. His name has never been mentioned before Nightfall (and Abaddon's Mouth doesn't count >_<) .

Wait a minute:

Margonites worship Abaddon.

Margonites tried to ascend.

Margonites created the Crystal Desert in a great war.

Crystal Desert was mostly underwater when the Margonites came to it to ascend.

Something doesn't fit here.

Could Abaddon (Dhuum) be manifest of all five gods? He is wielding a sythe reminiscent of a Dervish who can also become an avatar of a certain god. Perhaps Abaddon had the power of all the gods and thus this is why he was so destructive - perhaps the powers of all the gods combined makes chaos and this is why they are in seperate forms. If you want to go a bit further and have fun with speculation, perhaps Abaddon is the father of the five gods and thus encompasses all their powers, however, they didn't like this and overthrew him - sort of like Zeus overthrowing Chronus. Arenanet should really make a movie for Guild Wars They are doing it with Halo, why not Guild Wars?
