How was Shiro's death globally tramatic enough to cause the Jade Wind?
This question has lingered in my mind for a while and leads me to believe that Shiro may not have ever been completely human. It's not every day that someone dies and landscape tranforming gusts sweep across a continent. So what made Shiro's death any different? The explanation I'm floating around now questions whether or not Shiro was even still human at the time of his death. Opinions? Insights? Discuss!

Im guessing there was something connected to the lifeforce of his 'human' form. Dunno though, I wondered the same thing for a while...and thats what I came up with

I think it came from something to do with ingesting the energy from the Emperor (who’s linage seems to have great magic power as u can tell by shiro wanting to use it to return) mixed with Shiros evil rage

This is - somewhat- cleared up in the later Nightfall Storyline and Sidequestline. There are a lot of quests dealing with the how's and why's of the previous two chapters.
Explaining it would include a LOT of spoilers about the Nightfall Storyline though. If you complete Nightfall and do a few of the later sidequests, that question will partly answer itself.

the human body is all that controls how much energy you can store or use at one time. since his body was already torn up and was going to die anyway he was able to unleash all the energy stored in his body at once. the fact that the jade wind was so large was becasue shiro is just that powerful.

hmm.. in the Factions trailer it shows the emporer bowing to shiro and shiro beheading the emporer then the empoers "energy wave things" merge with shiro and cuases him to have alota power his death released the energy making the sea into jade and the enlalved forest into stone. (i didnt like factions very much >_>)

I have not yet completed Nightfall but I would guess that power came from Abbadon.

Like The Lich, A lot of his power was channelled by Abbadon.

Gwen empored Abaddon who empowered Shiro. When Shiro dyed, his burp was so mighty it caused the Jade Wind. Don't mess with Gwen.................

**Nightfall Spoilers (kind of)**
My speculation is that Shiro was influenced by Abaddon's madness, and granted some extension of Abaddon's power. This energy exiting the body, coupled with Shiro's intense emotions and the *speculated* power granted by the Emperor's death, could have been powerful enough to shape the landscape.

I always kinda thought that The vizihers reading of the scroll blowing up all of orr and making undead was kinda the equivilant of shiros power mixed with the curse of the imperial blood line in which it was kinda like an explosion by changing everything and turning wardens against the kurzicks and stuff.

wow... theres some freaky resemblance I didnt think about yet.... Jade Wind = Destruction of Orr...
One made innocent citizens into evil undead slaves and the other made wardens and forestdwellers mad.
Still I dont understand why Shiro became an Envoy

How many Envoys are there? If I counted correctly there are 5, 6 with Shiro. Just as there are 5 gods, 6 with Abaddon. Perhaps each god has their own Envoy and Shiro was Abaddon's.
Of course this is all riding on if I counted the Envoys correctly, and I dont know if I did....

While I agree with the Envoy for each God, Abaddon was exiled and by all logic, shouldn't he not get anything like that? Maybe when powerful people die, they linger on as Envoys and we just saw the main 5, the "leaders"?

Your probably right. GuildWiki lists only 5 Envoys, INCLUDING Shiro. So IF the Envoy for each God theory is true it means Abaddon does not have an Envoy and one of the main God's choose Shiro as their Envoy.
Though your "powerful people" theory is just as likely.

i think the deal with the envoys has to do the with the importance the being had on the world. if a person was powerful enough they would become the envoy of the god they worshipped. shiro was an acolyte of abaddon wasnt he? hence he became an envoy. if you read the manuscripts it talks of how the other envoys became envoys as well. if the individual was not as powerful as one of the pre-existing envoys, but still of great importance, they just earned place in the temple of tahnakai. such as vizu and the other people of importance there....just a theory.

Don't forget, Cantha has a "long history of Ascended emperors." "Ascended": being in a state of communion with the gods. Shiro, influenced by Abbadon, sought to gain access to that link and take Abbadon's fight straight to the gods. Shiro's death wail not only carried forth the energy he had recieved by Abbadon, but also the energy possessed by the slain emperor.
Here's a simpler explanation: no Jade Wind, no Factions storyline. Deus ex Machina.

Probably the Kurzicks and the Luxons would not have been fighting if there was no Jade Wind. But Shiro could still have returned after 200 years, only to find the Kurzicks and Luxons siding to defeat him again. Could have been a storyline, just different and the "Factions"-name wouldnt make sense.

One thing that's been bothering me is... why would Shiro go through all that trouble to regain a form that is kill-able? O_o
