Anyways Anet said that chp3 was the end of a "trilogy" so I except to see something new and completly different for chp4.

Nowhere close to Tyria, Cantha or Elona anyways.

there is a quest in nightfall, where a charr stuck in torment discovers finally that the titans "used" the charr, and the charr becomes overwhelemed with grief and hunts down the titans in the relm of torment...

With the defeat of abaddon, the only real threat left to people are the charr armies.... i think that GW4, the last GW, will be about eliminating the charr threat (the last threat) once and for all.... however, i feel that this will mean a charr civil war.... in other words, the threat will be ended not by killing ALL charr, but by diplomatic methods, where we teach them that the titans are false... of course most of the charr would find it blasphemous... so you'd have the believers versus the non-believers, and you'd be allied with the non-believers, helping them fight those that believe the titans are thier kids, until you kill their head hancho

actually, though anet does not explain this, the mursaat are hinted to be from another planet, just like the seer.... if you read about saul d'allesio, you will figure this.... this is also why the krytans, never seeing such creatures before in their own country, would think they are like gods who had walked the lands of Tyria previously.... well some of the krytans anyway, the ones that formed the white mantle

The charr idea seems probably closest to what will happen. Still wanna fight queens of the stone age though.

The defeat of abaddon (the corrupter of both the Vizer(lich) and Shiro) with Komir as the new god of secrets makes for several possiblities. Here are some ideas i adapted from several novels of similar plot.

A new evil arise

Just as abaddon is defeated as the outcasted god, evil and the realm of torment does not for that matter cease to exit. In fact if anything, the destruction of the imprisoned abaddon has now left a huge vaccum of power in the realm of torment. Without some form of control, the margonites (abaddon worshippers) and the creatures dwelling in the realm of torment would fall into disarray and soon go down a path of self destruction. Now perhaps would be a better time than ever for a previously supressed power to seize the opportunity and achieve demigod hood with perhaps an ambition for god hood through "certain" means.Hence a new evil is borned, one that is perhaps much more sinister, manipulative and may take a much more personal form in the influence of the paths of our main characters to aid him to that end. Will our heros realise the betrayal before it is too late? or will they foolishly aid the new evil in promise of greater powers beyond mortality.Without a doubt, Kommir the new god of secrets will have a hand in this and provide some warning/insights.

The vortex grows

If i am not mistaken, after the defeat of abaddon, the area of abaddon prison (abaddon's gate) collapsed and Komir provided a path towards the throne of secrets. However from a story standpoint we dont know if the vortex was closed (someone correct me if otherwise), since the vortex leading to the realm of torment exist on another plane of existance, it is an abnormaly and hence unpredictable. With that said, what if the vortex suddenly grows and spreading poison to the lands, turning areas progressive around the vortex into sulphurous waste and signs of nightfallen appearing across the known world and creatures of torment swelling over into reality while the vortex apart from posioning the lands, also starts to mutate the creatures dwelling on them. The landplauge may not neccessary be exclusive to elona but could spread outwards with the vortex as its epicentre hence justifying its presence from the perspective new lands(future chapter). The task for the heros would be to first combat the effects of the vortex, seek information (Komir comes into mind) on how to close the vortex, and finally travel into the vortex to confront the whatever maybe the cause of this engulfment of the destruction.

A new evil arise and The vortex grows plot can actually be combined and replayed in a entirely new chapter in a different land but without a doubt would be somewhat linked to Elona/Tyria for it to work. This plot as usual satisfy the "save the world"concept in GW gaming so far and looks predictable to be used at one point or another perhaps.

Merlin will be in chp4, I just see too many similarities that aren't there.. cast out gods (abbadon and anubis), instance portals look like worm hole event horizons.. etc, so merlin is the key! But my bet is on giant penguins..

If Gwen killed us there would be no point to having a Chapter 4+ now would there? Someone metioned something about following the storyline of the Char. That would be a pretty cool thing. hope they do that!

i think we're going North of Tyria.. and I while the Abbadon triology is over I think that Chapter 4 will have to do with the Charr. Just hope there is some snow or different look than the previous three. Though Chapter 1 and 3 where more related which makes me think that 4 might be about something different and 5 might be about the Charr. Guess we'll see.

Well, i'm sure we all read in the prophecies manuel about giants leaving... So my guess would be something related to the giants, in a place north of tyria. (Alaska, anyone?) as for the villian, maybe all the giants are thirsting for revange on the people who beat them out of tyria. Thats my thoughts.

Yeah I agree with the Charr new story line, Tyria is linked to Elona through the Desolation, so Im thinking North, West or East of Tyria, I personally love the idea of North of Tyria. Super evil looking Charr, Charr elders controlling the Charr, *and over the years of pre searing to Abaddons defeat the Charr have been making a HUGE army*, More profession Charr.

Make it hard so that people dont complete it in 5 days like Nightfall and Factions.

Maybe a new Charr Hero who got kicked out of the council of Charr...
And the Charr should have some kind of weapon of mass destruction, like they used a sort of one at the end of Pre Searing.

Windy areas FTW! Snow, Ice caves like prohecies, no desert, no jungle, got enough of them through out nightfall and factions.

*Edit* The Charr you help in the Realm of Torment as a new Hero?*

Orrrrr Palawa Joko gets an even bigger army of death.

well most people seem to expect it to be charr related.

as far as unfinished story/explanations go charr, mursaat, seer and dwarves are likely candidates for chapter 4.

whether those unfinished bits of story etc are becuase of anet rushing the release of gw and missing stuff out is anybodies guess. anet do seem to just make stuff up as they go along?

anyway id expect to see a north of ascalon/shiverpeaks charr based chapter 4. we have 2 minor gods/demi gods in menzies and Dhuum although id not expect much from them.

i think anet would naturally go with a winter/ice/snow/cold/scandinavian themed chapter 4 which would fit in with northern charr infested lands i guess. (charr love fire? maybe more than just being titan worshippers if they come from a cold place)

im thinking endless stretches of pine forest, snow capped mountains and deep dark long forgotten dwarven dungeons. icewindale anybody? lol

I'd be inclined to say the story of the dwarves is done. While we do still see Stone Summit wandering around explorables afterwards, my impression is that afterThunderhead Keep the Summit are driven back to Sorrow's Furnace, and when you finish that they're pretty much done for. They're still there for the same reason you, for example, still find Kaineng filled with Afflicted after defeating Shiro - so the zones aren't completely depopulated, and so the caps are still available. (There are better examples in Nightfall, but talking about them is a little spoilerish.)

The Charr, Mursaat and Seers are still mysteries, however. My personal belief is that, between Nolani Academy, Last Day Dawns, and Titan Source, the Charr have been driven back from Ascalon (or that Ascalon has at least been given a reprieve) but that isn't exactly spelled out. Now that we've had a few years pass after Prophecies, it would be nice to see some indication of just how Ascalon is now doing - even if this is received through NPC (could be amusing to have some clueless NPC denigrating the quality of the 1078AE Ascalonian wine compared to the 1069AE vintage, without realising that the mere existance of the '78 was miraculous enough...)

I was sorta hoping there would be at least a blurb about Orr. We know every Orrian didn't die in the Cataclysm. It would be cool if there was a quest to resurrect the city of Arah from the waves and maybe have some way to gain the favor of gods other than Balthazar. I was in the Chantry of Secrets yesterday and took the time to read the monuments to the gods. Each describes the first followers of the gods: Ewan(Melandru), Dorac(Dwayna), Sara(Lyssa), and Desmina(Grenth). Balthazar's statue didn't name any one person as his first follower. His first followers seem to be the common soldier. Thus PvP is the way to gain his favor. In Orr we might learn more about the paths of the First Followers and find a way to bring the favor of the other gods back to the human kingdoms.

i dun think it'll be charr related since the charr threat is gone to, the titans made them attack ascalon, titans and their boss are destroyed THE END, i think it'll be something that has COMPLETELY nothing to do with any of the three campaigns so far

The zaishen are the caretakers of the Battle Isles, disciples of Balthazar. They also seem to have a sideline in investigating breaches in the Mists, hence their presence at the Tombs and in Istan.

Chapter 3 Is supposed to end a Trilogy.

Chapter 4-6 are supposed to bring something totally new to the table.

My speculations:

Chapter 4 Will be underground. In the massive tunnelnetwork connecting Tyria and Cantha ( Through wich the Dregg got to echovald forest. ) In These caves the Stone Summit have discovered an artifact of immense power, an artifact of the Great Destroyer. The Deldrimor Dwarves have called for help to stop the stone summit! But they are also lending their own forces, players will be able to create new dwarven characters ( All Chapter 4 Characters will be dwarves, All Chapter 1-3 Characters will be human. ) And you go on a quest to stop the stone summit once and for all .

------------------------

Why do I think this?

- A New Trilogy asks for something totally new, a new race would be one of the only totally new things.
- A New Trilogy can't start with defeating an all-powerfull enemy, you first have to start with a mortal enemy ( high priest of the great destroyer or something like that )
- It's just cool .
