The Arid Sea, Seems to drift off away into the corner of The Desert, Which then links up with the Nightfall game.
The Falls also has nowhere to go, and only one use so far, and thats the Totem Axe. So Maybe it could link up with a new campaign
Not only do I agree about the Falls, but Id like to point that the Totem Axe was first used by the Wu Tang Clan as you can see from its design. I dunno, thats what I see when I look at them= which is why 55s are so gankstah.

I hope your not suggesting Chapter 4 will be full of gangsta's?

that would be a bit of poor play on Anet....

I forget where they state it (might be the manual, will have to check), that each side claimed that its hero had killed Shiro without the other sides hero, and that was what caused them to start fighting, although that is largely ignored by the "modern" luxons and kurziks...

I honestly would love to see more about the kurziks and the luxons in later chapters...I know a lot of people disagree here, but Factions (and the sides in general), were my favorite thing in GW, and a deeper faction system would be awesome...

As for the next chapter, im *betting* its going to be native american/south american influenced, as they probably wont do australia (desert), as they just did a desert area, and Anet hasnt done *that* much jungle, only the maguma so far...Blowdarts for rangers plx

I just found something else in the GW:NF manual. On page 137 there is someone on the stairs looking above him there's a picture of a mountain or giant wall of some sort. The picture actually shows a giant eleplant and a rhino below it and it looks as there's a small opening on the right of it. Kind of like how the picture of Ring of Fire loading screen and Crystal Desert loading screen.

Those creatures are African/Middleast creatures (and Nightfall is based on Africa/Middleeast), i dont see how they would be relevant to a new chapter thats not based on the same land as Nightfall. Im pretty sure i can see a Hyena and a Girraffe head on teh right hand side. Its possible this is a clue but personally i dont think it is.

As far as hints in the manual and even looking in the art book from the ce, I truly could find nothing at all. The only mention of places other than Tyria and Cantha are the northern lands. which is criptic at best. I couldn't find anything concrete at all. (my head hurts after looking through that)

We don't see any of these animals showing up in NF. But some people were thinking about "Giants" in the next chapter, I thought this would give off some ideas.

We see Hyenas and Great Beasts which look to be Rhinos with more horns. i agree with Sophitia in thinking it was based upon Nightfall not a future chapter. I dont understand why so many people think the great giants will return. To me they seem like Anets take on a species like the Dinosaurs that somehow became extinct. I always thought the huge bones found in the Crystal Desert/Ascalon areas are what remains of them.

I agree with Free Runner on the Giant bones in the crystal desert. They may be part of the new chapter but unsure as to how. Truly need more info and I wish that someone in NC-Soft would leak something concrete (like that is going to happen).

Strange that almost everybody likes to equate Northern Lands = somewhere with lots of snow and moutains. I personally it is going to be sort of an archipalago, with lots of islands. And there will be more diversity to the map in such a way that there will be a floating city above a land belonging to a powerful race.(E.g. Mursaat)

While I don't agree with your conclusions, you do make a good point. Apart from the Shiverpeaks, most of the nearby terrain appears to be quite warm: of the other terrains for which special cases like vulcanism and magical disasters do not apply, Kryta appears to be Mediterranean from dress and architecture, and the Maguuma Jungle is, well, a jungle. Presearing Ascalon appeared to me to be a warm temperate climate - and Ascalon is described as 'highlands plains' in one of the timelines, so it could be cooler than Kryta due to altitude rather than lattitude. Either way, Wintersday notwithstanding, I suspect snow is actually relatively rare in Kryta. It probably does snow occasionally, but I expect it's the occasional flurry that might stay on the ground for a couple of days at most before melting rather than there being any real expectation of having the ground covered in snow all or most of winter.

Ultimately, what I'm getting to is that I suspect the Shiverpeaks are much like the Himalayas. It's cold there due more to the altitude, and the effect of the mountains on the weather, than lattitude. The end result is: There is no guarantee that the 'northern lands' are going to be snowed over, certainly not all year around. Instead, it seems more likely to be a moderate to cool temperate climate - at least at sea level, and at the southern portion of the map.

Of course, it could be that the 'northern lands' refer to some random lands north of Cantha that may or may not actually be north of Tyria and Elona, and they're only called that because they don't have their own name and/or they were discovered by Canthans before the other two continents, and are referred to by that term by tradition.

I personally think that the "Northern Lands" will be covered in ice/snow. It explains why the Charr were forced to 'invade' Tyria. I think an 'Ice Age' occurred, forcing the Charr south as they are fire based, and it would also explained why the inhabitants are able to trade with Canthan's without fear of the Charr.

Does anyone else think this may be what happened?

The Charr invaded because of they were told to by the Titans.

Personally, my take is that the Charr probably come from a fairly cold, although possibly volcanic, land. Their worship of fire (which, according to Scorch Emberspire, predated the appearance of the Titans) looks to me like the product of living in a cold environment where fire is necassary to survive. On the other hand, however, it is worth noting that they don't seem to be debilitated by being in a warm environment, which implies they haven't been forced to acclimatise to cold temperatures THAT much.

My guess would probably be that their home climate is something similar to northern Europe or maybe mid-to-southern Canada, but not actually arctic. The winters may be long and bitter, but the summers are reasonably warm and there certainly isn't permanent snow cover - at least not in the inhabited areas.

The Charr must have come from a relatively cold enviroment, they are covered in fur, you dont tend to see many bald creatures in the arctic/antarctic... (penguins have feathers :P)

"My soul longs to bask in the flames of the lands that we called home"

Tells me that the Charr homeland would be far from cold. But that said i would love to see the chapter based in a snowy setting since the Shiverpeaks were my favourte place in the first chapter.

i think tht the next chapter would be back b4 the first guild war and see what led the charr to invade ascalon or what caused the guild war

The Titans caused the Charr to invade Tyria. I believe the cause of the Guild Wars was the power the guilds of Tyria began to gain causing guilds to fight guild wars against each other. If the chapters ever did go back in time i would think they would go further back maybe to the days when the races fought each other with the magic.

No I don't think Anet would ever go back in time with a story. Perhaps. the northern lands, will be part shiverpeaks type, and going down into tropical/jungle..a mixture of the both. Perhaps something to do with those two ancient towers that stand watch over the Giants Basin lake.

I dunno, im really hoping for more jungle stuff. Maybe Druid profession with a lot of form type magic. The druids have disappeared from Tyria 100-200 years previous. Maybe they migrated to the northern lands or west.

Druid would be cool, possibly have a lot of forms like the Dervish Avatar's. Morph into jungle animals with their skills or something, like a cross between the Junundu.

I'm ranting. I'll shut up now

**Edit**

I can imagine chapter 4 starting next to the maguuma jungle. then moving northward swinging around and following across to the shiverpeaks? or going the opposite direction. or something to that effect or perhaps starting further north (like a starting area) and then coming down and linking up with tyria at multiple points? You can link with tyria from Nightfall, so I dont see why Anet would not do the same again.
