Yeah, arcanemacabre's comparison is better than mine, all map on the logo is Tyria...unfortunately =(
I hope Guild Wars 2 will not be just Tyria, but much more, and new lands to explore.

I think it would be small benefits to one winning sides world every hour or so and then something for the overall winner of that battle when it ends and starts anew.

On a different note i am not only looking forward to see Tyria a hundred years on but also The mists where the WvW will take place

Having heard that GW2 is going to be full MMO rather than instanced I'm not sure if I even want to bother.
What I like best about Guild Wars is the fact that it is instanced.... and that it is my choice whether I want to prat around with other human meatbags or not at any given time.
If I can't go anywhere to get a spot of peace because people are all rampaging through the same world, I'm not sure it is worth the effort.

According to Anet there will still be instanced areas. IF I remember well the 'persistent' areas were mentioned in a global quest thingie context – maybe there will be only few classic mmo areas in GW2.

It might sound naïve but I have faith in Anet, when I heard how GW1 was going to work a few years ago I was sure it would be a total disaster – and I was proved wrong. These guys know what they're doing, I think, and they might have a few aces up their sleeves.

In a perfect game you would have a choice whether to enter a persistent world or an instance each time you leave an outpost (which would probably require two versions of the same map, a smaller instance version and a large area with open spaces and lots and lots of monsters). Just a thought.

Back to GW2: maybe the earthquakes in GW:EN managed to level the Shiverpeaks and, thus, change the oh so delicate climate of the continent. Geologically unlikely but quite impressive - it's fantasy, think epic!

The Guild Wars 2 logo is covering up much of the Shiverpeaks so you never know. But anyway it looks like instead of a flat map the map or whatever will be sphereical and that could mean there is a whole of land on the other side of Tyria. And really north of the area (Kryta) we see in the logo is the snowier section.

One thing that I see you guys saying is 100 years later but the way i read it is hundreds of years later. If it is indeed only 100 years later then the world would not change AT ALL. Continents do not shift that quickly, and nothing of major importance happens to a planed that quickly. So I would assume that it is indeed hundreds of years later, not 100.

The Shiverpeaks are there. We must keep in mind that they had to remove some things and lessen others in order to show more global content.
