Dhuum And Menzies
With Abaddon down, the question still remains. What of Dhuum and Menzies. They obviously played a part in Abaddon's attempt to regain glory. But they both played very silent parts. There were the emissaries of Dhuum and of course the minions of Menzies are seen throughout the Realm of Torment. But they seemed to just fuel Abaddon not work with him. When abaddon was backed against the wall they didn't offer any help at the end.
So are we looking at Dhuum and Menzies as the main antagonists of Guild Wars? Will they continue to bring terror and chaos to the world but from a distance? Every good story has the main villian which can never be defeated only pushed back. That truth is very important to an MMO, considering you wouldn't have much of a game if you killed the main threat. And coming up with a new main threat is harder than most would think.
Thoughts?

Dhuum and Menzies are but minors players. Menzies is too busy enjoying War with his brother Balthazar, who Better to fight with than family? The both love War without Each other they would get bored and lost. Dhuum is another former god who has little power anymore since Grenth Usurped him. Even his mighty minions abaddon him to join in Mallynxs cause. This is because Dhuum is no threat what so ever anymore.
The only reasons they back Abaddon is because theres a War going on and Menzies loves war and he certainly isnt going to back his brother. Dhuum joins just to try to take Revenge on Grenth since he cant do it himself he needs a high power to do it for him (Abaddon).
The reason they didnt back Abaddon when he was backed into his corner is probally one of two reasons: 1 - they thought him unbeatable and so he would easily shatter these mortals or 2- they couldnt help him even if they wanted to, they simply didnt have the power or ability to.
I predict they will always be around but they will Never be main antagonists, main threats can come and go but smaller threats can stay for much longer because theres no need to totally eliminate them and they dont have the power to totally eliminate you.

It'd be cool if more outcast/disposed gods come to the fore so they can have a pantheon vs pantheon theme in the future.
Currently, without Abaddon, Menzies and Dhuum have little power to do much at all.

Dhuum and Menzies watched Abaddon - the god that had a huge army of Margonites at his disposal and who it took 5 gods to chain him down - get taken out....by a band of humans. Menzies cant even hold his grasp on the Fissure Of Woe and Dhuum was overthrown by Grenth.
Doesnt look to good for them eh? i see Dhuum and Menzies as the side villians. We defeat Menzies what happens to the FoW? we defeat Dhuum what happens to the Underworld?. Defeating them would mean peace in those worlds which is why i dotn see them stepping up to the spotlight anytime soon. GW2 however............well its a long way off yet
