Was she a prisoner for this entire time? I played The Flight North and it seemed like she had JUST been captured (or at least relatively recently).

In The Flight North, she was just recaptured. Read the book and it tells the entire story of Gwen's captivity. The Flight North is just her second capture to escaping. And I'd say that this takes place shortly prior to Nightfall (she would need a bit more then a year to basically be second in command).

Also, if Gwen was 10 in Pre-searing, she'd be 16 in EN. I think she was 16 in The Flight North. Therefore meaning about 17/18 in EN and 11/12 in Pre.

She had been a prisoner for seven years until she found a chance to escape. She was recaptured by the Charr and placed into the blood arena as punishment.

She was 10 in Pre Searing, 17 in The Flight North and 18 in EotN. This is supported by the fact that EotN took place 8 Years after the Searing, and the book mentions she was 10 at the time. Meaning Gwen spent a year with the Ebon Vanguard prior to the arrival of the Destroyers.

I don't know why, but I always thought EN happend a year after Nightfall... Wonder what brought that about... Eh. Forget my comments on Gwen's age.

And the Book is what you get from the Historian, the thing you use to start the mission.

In the EotN trailer, Gwen says that "Six years ago, my world burned". However this has been noted to being incorrect by Anet, as it doesnt count the 2 year timeskip that happens. Thats probably where you got it from.

Well she was problably in kryta because of the one village in stingray strand where you find the tattered girld cape which we know belonged to gwen because she ever said so and she might have been in kourna because of the perserved iris flower we can find there. So their are my thought I think gwen from age 10-17 was traveling to find a new home but couldn't find one then she was coming back to ascalon being ravinged by the searing then she got captured in a charr raid and then the flight to the north happened but that second capture thing might have been captured in a world with no new home for a young girl

All the items are pretty much void. They were clues to let the playerbase know that the Gwen mystery wasnt over. The book outright states that she spent 7 years in captivity (which is why she is incredibly dangerous and unstable when near Charr)

It's too bad the old items were discounted. I imagined a way more interesting storyline than "nope, stuck in a cage for seven years". ;p

If you want a VERY more interesting storyline for Gwen, read Karuro's fan-fiction comic called Requiem for Sanity.

Gwen makes copies of herself and goes all over after the searing. o.o
