There are similarly sized dragon bones outside Flame Temple Corridor in Diessa Lowlands, and I expect probably in Dragon's Gullet. Not sure about the latter, haven't been there in a while.
Edit: Just took a run through Gullet for old time's sake. There are some of the same huge bones in the south eastern part of the zone.

There are bones like that all over the Crystal Desert,Underworld and in Ascalon areas and Dungeons. There are no visible Dragons outside of Eye of the North. The bones found are suspected to be from the Great Giants (Giganticus Lupicus).

You may want to read other threads more.
Those bones are just for decoration, generally to suggest how big and ancient the world is - more jumpy conclusions include that they are the bones of the Great Giants (Giganticus Lupicus).

I imagine them looking like Sand Giants but bigger, though the skeleton clearly suggests something else, as if they're quadruped.

That's my thought as well, some of the giant skulls seem almost elephant-like
though I'm pretty sure a lot of the bones in the crystal desert are sea creature bones (whales anyone?), keeping in mind that the crystal desert was all ocean way back in the day.

That Idea makes sense actually...
What better way to reintroduce The Catacombs into the game? And shouldnt it make sense to make the Undead Dragon rise from there?
Albeit its officially said he'll rise from Orr... But in 250 years, things change a lot. Maybe the earthquakes in GWEN or just time made The Catacombs extend somewhat or shift southward a little...

I don't get how an underground tunnel system can move so much in only 250 years. Also, if the catacombs move...then all of *GW2 time, what was*ascalon would move as well, seeing how the catacombs are in ascalon.

They're underground, that fact might change things a bit...
Its probably more likely that if this is indeed the Undead Dragon, then the GWEN earthquakes have something to do in this... however small that part may be...
The Catacombs were sealed away in The Searing but those quakes and time will open them again.
Who knows?

I would like that, the catacombs were a good place...odd they weren't around in post they'd be so fitting for post-sear ascalon anyways.
While I doubt it's the undead dragon that flies out of Orr (the bones are much to small to be one of the "great" dragons) I wouldn't doubt it could easily be some kind of "minion dragon" or something to that effect.
hmm...a shame though, now that i think of it I think they dropped one of the bigger crystals smack dab in the middle of the catacombs judging by the map.

We've been wishing since Prophecies to go into the Post-Searing catacombs. It'd be neat.
Hopefully in GW2...maybe some new passages open in it and it can now be used as a secret "underground railroad" to get around Ascalon.

I'd say the catacombs got destroyed in the searing, since one can't enter them anymore. But i mean, you can't swim either, so i'm probably wrong.

Swimming in the tar-pits of Ascalon, a limited time offer, you can save 2 platinum by buying the family pack.
On topic: The undead dragon originating from catacombs would make sense since the ghosts on top of catacombs are "immortal" he would have to find a better place to surface, and what better place than Orr, where the gods once walked.

Exactly what I was thinking. Maybe the catacombs extend ALOT further than we first anticipated. There's a good possibility that GWEN Tombs are connected to them too (architecture) and that they lead to Orr.
*Off to find secret passageways*
EDIT: Now I think of it, it could also be some dead minions of one of the dragons

Those bones are definatly not Giganticus Lupicus. they are of an ancient dragon, dead of course.
How do i know this?
At halloween go to droknars forge, there is a Giganticus Lupicus skull with a candle on it.

Simple holiday decorations cannot be taken as a fact of something in the game. Besides, ever thought that this "Giganticuz Lupicus" had multiple types of skulls? If that skull in Droknar's Forge is in fact a giant's skull, which I find highly unlikely.

Thats just a Halloween Skull. It has nothing to do with the GL. However the huge bones found around Tyria ARE to do with the GL.
